Since my comments about the half-time "situation" gets me a couple of fresh +1's, I'll update my video example from above to give anyone reading this from the College of Music a close up perspective.

You have to admit that this is much more entertaining than the travels (and/or travails) of RF.

Being a former student of OU, their entrance and Band performance tops all I've seen.  Easy entrance and exit. UNT could easily pull this off.

I dislike bands altogether.

I think the Marching Band has one job at almost every school in the country--get the crowd fired up with the fight song, alma mater, and other crowd favorites.

I don't think that is what is the mission of the Green Brigade and I don't believe that the majority of  the UNT fans want that to be the case. I cannot tell you how many times I have been in line to buy a general admission ticket back at Fouts and heard people in front of me or next to me ask the ticket office where was the best seat to watch the band march in and perform at halftime because that was how long they were gonna stick around. I am not even saying that is wrong, but it is certainly different from attending a game at any other school in this region of the country.

I remember back in the day, we all decided that his nickname in this forum was something like, "Ramon I can count all of the plays on my ten digits Flanigan"  Still brings a smile to my face.

I love your windmill-isms.  They remind me of my There's-No-Damn-Blue-And Burnt-Orange-In-Glory-To-The-Green-And-White--isms of the 1990's.  And like yours, mine fell on deaf Helwigs for many years, too.  But finally someone with some damn common sense named Norval came along and got it right.

Hopefully, someday a Neal will put his foot down and convince the school of just music that college game day is about university pride in the Mean Green and not just about themselves.

Neal might put his foot down on the school of music, but there is no way anyone is convincing them that they aren't the centerpiece of this university. They believe that the football games surrounds their halftime performance, not the other way around like it is everywhere else. And Denton agrees with that thought, as well.
