Was he planning on transferring to UNT?  Are you questioning the conditioning program at the school he attends?  Relevance?

We played them. We play them next year. Cross was a candidate for the UNT job when RV made the gawdawful decision to hire Benford.

Plus, I like the UTA team and am pulling for them the rest of the year.

It is indeed a shame. However, this team is so deep, I think it will hurt us a little but not a lot. We've been winning our home games by an average of 25+ points, and there have been several games where Hervey has had like 2 points by halftime and we've got a 10-15 point lead by that point. I'm not sure Eubanks is a 23 point a night scorer every night, but I think there's enough scoring and sharing the ball that if 5 or 6 guys get just one more basket each, we'll be ok. We're leading the nation in rebounds/game at 45, and we got 51 against a big Arkansas State team last night. Can we do that for 15 more games without Hervey? Hopefully

The bright side of this is we only lose one senior to graduation this year, so basically this team will have the same 10 or 12 guys playing two full seasons together (this year and next). One of our centers (Brandon Williams) had reshirted this year, and subsequently transferred after the fall semester, so we have a second scholarship open. I'm guessing the staff is scouting every junior college in the country for a big power forward that can back up Hervey the next two years.

So you will kick UNT's ass again next year? In UNT's building?

Great.

Sad deal on Hervey. I enjoyed watching him in the UNT game. Smooth player. Hope you can hold onto Cross after this year. I have a feeling bigger programs may come a calling.

Oh, and I really enjoyed your arena and gameday experience. I'll probably catch another game there this year.

Wow. Just realized you guys play UALR at home tonight. For the basketball fans on the board, UALR is 16-3 while UTA sits at 14-3. Both are tied with each other for 1st place in the Belt, which is a better basketball conference than CUSA this year. Think I'll make this game.

Just label yourself a bandwagon fan! You and fire fighting Rick could start a bandwagon fan club. You only support UNT when they win anyway. Just jump to some other school and when they start to lose you can just hop to the next winning program. I guess it's easier. You should change your photo...

Stop being a baby. I like college basketball, and I like well coached college basketball teams.

UALR vs UTA is going to be a VERY competitive game.

How many of those have you seen at the pit this year?

I am all for watching anything basketball, but you give up going to games just because we are losing. That's a fair weather fan. Same thing in the GMG game. You didn't want to lose so you didn't coach. You just run away instead of losing. I don't  like losing, but it's not going to keep me from my season tickets. I also think the Athleric Department could do a lot of things better. They pay themselves on the back for the little things and completely miss the big picture. They are to busy sitting in their group with the big donors and tend to ignore the little guy. Still that won't keep me from games!

No, I don't go to games because UNT doesn't care enough about its basketball program to fix a GLARING problem, instead letting that problem fester for 3 years.

If UNT doesn't give a shit about men's basketball, why should I?

He most likely won't be back next year anyway and we still have some good players. They are exciting to watch. I won't miss a game.

We will win again and people will show up. To be honest it's the student section that is lacking. They show up to losing football but not basketball? The ad could get them back into the pit pretty easy! We would hoop in the rec and around tip off everybody on the courts (for the most part) would drop what they were doing and go to the pit. It all started with just a few leaving and then eventually everyone followed. The ad could easily go into the ref and get those kids to fill the seats.

Also don't worry I will pick you up this so your on the winning team ;)

The student area had grown to almost 3 sections by the end of JJs last season.

Benford has completely destroyed that, leaving about 7 die hards.

Meanwhile, UNT has ignored the problem. They don't care, so neither do I.

So post on the UTA forum.  This is the place for UNT, good or bad.

Every one I've attended. I have seen us lose them all though. I have been fortunate enough to be "busy" when we were trounced at home.

To add insult to injury down in Dallas, the UTA A Capella Choir performed with the Dallas Symphony last night. The program was all Gershwin and featured soprano Janice Chandler-Eteme and bass baritone Kevin Deas performing music from Porgy and Bess. The UTA folks supported the two famous singers superbly...in fact, they kicked ass! The UTA A Capella Choir is directed by a turncoat UNT D.M.A. degree holder. Maybe she can coach basketball too!

Do our choral performers ever venture off Fry Street? It was embarrassing to explain to the lady in the seat adjacent to mine (who was new to the area from Atlanta, GA) who and where UTA was.

Got our butts handed to us tonight. 5033 fans show up and we give UALR an 18-0 lead and eventually get down by 26. I left midway through 2nd half, we lost by only 6. Don't let the score fool you--it was ugly. Just one of those nights. Even Hervey wouldn't have made a difference.

Yall made it close.  Sounds like a good entertaining game for the conference lead.
