We could probably fight it, but lose.  Just hope to hell that the Spartans don't want to change their nickname to Mean Green.

Actually, I believe that we began using the moniker in the 60s, before Charlotte in the 70s.  However, we had not copyrighted 'Mean Green' so Charlotte was not infringing.  We do have it copyrighted for sports teams now so Michigan State should either pay us if they continue to use it without our permission or find another moniker for their uniform.

Think they now call themselves "the twelves" to skirt this. Dont think they pay atm. Also, I would expect a cease and desist before a suit.

If we had been more successful during the 80's, 90's and 2000's, we would have been high profile enough that this would have never happened.
