Do tell...

The account just posted that earlier. It's a Fort Worth area code. So it's believed to be the Offensive lineman from Navarro because that's his hometown. It would be a big get beating out LA tech

Coaches announce verbals before signing day in your universe? Because they don't in ours.

They make sure it gets out there in some way. You don't have to comment. You get players to put it on twitter or similar. And if you want Brett Vito or Scott Sidway to follow the right recruits, there is a way for that without officially commenting either. Having a buzz that your scholarships are valuable is good for recruiting buisnes.

This. I followed recruiting closely in Fort bend in 12, 13, & 14.  You could tell some of the teams would have the beat writer contact recruits and get info.  Even during dead periods. Several times the beat writer would be the first contact, so obviously they got the info from the AD.

Hopefully Vito can get better info from the AD in the future, because this must improve.  Either that, or UNT needs to find someone they like.  Kids love the attention and hype.  Vito has definetly stepped it up with his articles on recruits once he is aware of a target, but other schools are using their beat writers for much more.
