I still want one of his jerseys.  Wonder how many extras they game him...do they get to keep them, or have to return them?

One of my sons' nickname is Bean, and when he was getting beaten up two to three times a week at his old school, we were looking for ways to inspire him and started talking about physical fitness/activity, sports, hard work, etc.  He's still really young, so we wanted to find ways for him to relate.  So having a big tough guy named Bean play for UNT was one of the examples we were able to use when explaining how he could get strong and fast and tough like him so that he would be able to take down kids twice his size if he had to.

My little Bean just took 3rd place at his first Tae Kwon Do tournament last week.

Gotcha..thx! Go Little Bean!

Tough school.  Glad it's now his OLD school.

Congrats to him on the 3rd place finish.  Hopefully he keeps working hard and places one or two spots higher in the future.  That would be pretty awesome.

Thanks for the good vibes.  It really bothered me, because it was like reliving some of the worst parts of my own life.  I even saw it one time at Field Day and saw him get so emotional that he couldn't even react to it, and I had to intervene because the teachers were useless.  So because I can relate, it's important to find examples of others that he can look up to and see as role models.  I don't think it's smart to try to use yourself as the only example and role model for your kid, especially when there are obvious flaws in what kind of example it would be if they knew the whole story...so I always look for bits and pieces of things that stand out and are relatable in other people.  I can't let what happened to me also happen to them, so I do whatever it takes to make sure they're going to be safe and strong.
