Good: He saw Bryce English transferred and knew he was good. This intrigued him and may be a factor that sways recruits.

Bad: He seems like he is still committed to FSU

Ugly: He didn't know who the F we were and he's from Aledo.

Agreed but the fact he's coming in on a visit possibly is a very good thing.

Agreed. Super happy he is coming in as he is a 3-star composite. Just disappointed that people in our backyard know so little about us. Sounds like we will have a lot of recruits in over the next two weekends could provide an exciting atmosphere for the recruits.

I have always said that, if you can get an 18 year old man to step foot on our campus and walk him around during a school day, we can recruit anyone.

That seems to be the problem...when kids that play for state championships at Aledo, just west of Ft. Worth, don't know anything about our program--where we play, what level we play at, who is in our conference, etc...it all basically quantifies every single thing our university has done wrong in the past 35 years regarding football.

Apologize for "old times post", but this reminds of a Fry quote, when he said essentially the same thing.  If he can get them on campus, he can sign them.

This is despite both NT and Denton in the seventies not having near what they currently have to offer.

Where did it say that Peek had never heard of us?

I think maybe he was alluding to the quote: " As soon I got off the phone with the North Texas coach I looked UNT up and saw that he had transferred there. "z

I didn't take that to mean he had never heard of The University of North Texas, rather, he wanted to look us up to see what's going on.  He likely found MeanGreenSports.com, Vito's blog, and *gasp* gomeangreen.com.

Thats how I took it too.

The article never says anything about him not knowing who NT is or that we play football or even the conference in which we play. He didn't know the names of other recruits coming here but once he looked he did recognize at least one of the names! Just because a kid didn't know the name of any of our recruits BEFORE he talked to our coach doesn't mean we've been a failure for the past decades. He WAS interested enough to do some research after one phone call!

Keep in mind that he probably never heard of Aledo before they recruited him either.

This is correct. The story reads that he wanted to learn MORE about UNT once he was contacted, not that he didn't know that UNT existed.
