Took a look at the roster yesterday, and by my count we have 60 players returning from last season who are currently on scholarship. Which means we will definitely have the full 25 scholarships available for this class.

Although I really doubt they will all be used, considering we still have 17 spots left and just two weeks until signing day. Again, point is we can sign the full 25 this year.

Seth has mentioned he may not fill up to 25. One position I would like to see maybe some reaching would be DT. May be tough without a DL coach!

I'm much more concerned with quality rather than quantity.  If we only take 18 so be it if the next nine are players that this coaching staff believes can be solid contributors in the future.  I believe that we have a little better talent on this team than we realize and the new offensive system will work to their advantage.

I do realize that several positions are areas of concern.  We need at least one more quality quarterback; two if DaMarcus is evaluated and found wanting.  I'm concerned about TE but that could be because of inexperience.  We need a quality running back recruit.  And, a couple of quality DBs.  We can always use talented linebackers.  Overall, though I believe that (barring injury) our current players and commitments will stay the course in spite of 30 seniors.

Do we not have a DL coach or has one not been announced?  I would think we would have heard something if someone was offered the position, but considering how quietly the other coaches have been hired, it wouldn't surprise me if someone wasn't already hired.

Billy - Apparently, we have several walk ons who Mac and a staff "pushed forward" meaning awarded them scholarships for next academic year, (however else that works). Not certain if you have heard  this or not, but if this is the case, then this staff is working with a lesser amount than 25.

At this point in the game, wouldn't you want to hold back a small handful of scholarships for whatever may happen (kids holding out for better offers, post spring roster casualties at P5 programs, late qualifiers, etc.) anyway despite lack of quality depth at most position groups.
