I wonder if this is in reference to This kid or someone else?

Vito replied back with a link to the blog article about Rico Bussey, SO it appears it is about the same news.

UTA had a great player who played in the NFL back in the day named Dexter Bussey.  I wonder if this kid is any relation?

He started out at Oklahoma and transferred to UTA. His very brief WiKi page says he was born in Dallas but it didn't list a HS where he played.....just OU and UTA. I saw him play in 73 when he pretty much ripped through the NT defense in Hayden Fry's initial coaching appearance at NT. I'm guessing he transferred from Oklahoma because he was playing behind a pretty outstanding RB by the name of Joe Washington and probably didn't have a chance to play much. Nothing on his WiKi page about where he is now or who his kids are.

Dexter Bussey still lives in Michigan.  Never lived in Oklahoma, save for his two seasons at OU.

As far as this type of recruiting, it's not any different than before.  Not only are we not getting the best in Texas, we are not getting the best in Oklahoma.  Not saying the kid won't be a contributor during his time here.  Just saying, for those who thought Littrell & Company were going to make a big splash in prep recruiting...still waiting.

Best, so far, have been transfers from P5s.  Need to fill the spaces behind them, though, with preps.

We won't get the best in OK, OU and OSU will.  We won't get the best in TX either.  Those will go to UT, A$M, TCU, Baylor or other nationally P5 programs.  We just need to improve to where we are consistently signing 3-star, multiple offer athletes.

Give me the left outs of OU and OSU! Our location should be attractive to OK players!

Nice! We will need as many young men who know how to get open, as we can get.

*and catch/hold on to the ball.

First thing I noticed was his offer list too.  True, it's G5/FCS, but a couple of them are pretty solid ones, including a few that I'd consider moderately regional competitors.  Glad to see having Harrell is already starting to pay off.  Hopefully this sort of thing will be a regular occurrence with him and Littrell at the top of the staff...so long as we keep the D filled out as well!

I think I read somewhere that our transfer game is already stepping up.

I hope this class includes a nice group of HS signees that have plenty of other G5 offers.
