Shout out to @Cooley  for breaking this.

http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2015/may/21/usd-basketball-ryan-woolridge/

Woolridge, a 6-foot-3 point guard out of Lake Ridge High in Mansfield, Texas, became the third high school player to sign with USD since Smith took over the program. Joining Tyler Williams and Olin Carter, all three are from the Dallas area.

Woolridge is considered a slender, but explosive guard. He averaged 17.3 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 steals for a team that went 24-8 his senior season. He was named the District 14-5A Co-Offensive Player of the Year.

“He’s fast, really fast,” Smith said. “He can break down a defense, get anywhere on the floor with the ball. He’s a high-level passer, just very hard to stay in front of. He’s talented.”

Woolridge was recruited by Colorado, UTEP, TCU, Rice and Baylor.

“He’s a little bit physically immature in the upper body,” Smith said. “I think that’s what people were trying to figure out, if he could handle the strength initially at a high major level. I think that’s why he dropped to us. But he’s as fast as they come with the basketball.”

Got to hand it to Benny, he hasn't stopped recruiting.  It will be interesting to see if he is able to do enough to stick around another year.  Lots of freshmen getting experience and a nice class coming in.  Not sure how many will stick around if Benny were to 'leave'.  It's going to be an interesting couple of months.

Welcome aboard Mr. Woolridge!

Would he be eligible to play next season? This will fill 2 of 4 scholerships. Really hoping we get the 6-6 kid who was also waiting on football offers. Benford can certainly recruit. Winning and retention of players would be nice though :)

I know. I truly hope he can turn it around, but have no evidence to give me hope.

Hard to say. BV's article doesn't say if he is already enrolled and taking classes.

This brings up a question. Who is the maybe 6-5 guy who always wears green polo's and is on the floor when they warm up?
