Very strange, it would be nice to know back story.  She was easily the most interesting of NT recruits.  Having come from Mitchell's prior team, you would think she would be most unlikely to leave.   I wonder if NT had to approve this transfer and when she is eligible at ULL.

I wonder if she would be eligible to play right away for 2016-2017 given she was already sitting out for her full year (2015-2016) due to transferring from Texas.

I am not certain but I believe the 2nd transfer does not count the first semester she already sat.

Seems odd to me given her prior experience with Jalie at Texas.  Couple of random thoughts on this;

1. Perhaps her knee wasn't responding to treatment as well as expected and LaLa just decided to take a chance,

2.  Perhaps Jalie had set some goals for her that she was not able to meet,

3.  Any Louisiana ties?,

4.  Perhaps she saw the competition for playing time awaiting her and decided to head elsewhere...both returning players and perhaps new commits we don't know much about as yet,

5.  Perhaps it is...I have no clue why?  This is likely the answer as I don't know...just speculating.

6.  Anyone going to blame Jalie for running players off?  Not me!

Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing her play next year.  No hard feelings...here's hoping she finds what she is looking for at LaLa.

She's from Beaumont. 2 hours closer to Lafayette than Denton

But, in this case...Jalie brought her here.  Sure wanted to see what she could do with Jalie and the Mean Green.

disappointing as Jalie could have brought in a HS player to help on the bench depth, but it is a gamble on transfers and looks like one loss right now.

Maybe, but she may not have been able to get a good HS player in the timeframe she had after her hiring and Nekia was the best option at the time.

She was a "big" girl.  With her weight, maybe her knee wasn't responding.  Who knows.  I do know that we will be alright with Mitchell in control.

If proximity to Beaumont is an issue, she should have transferred to Lamar. 

 

It makes no sense that she would follow Jalie to Denton, sit all these months, and then transfer to another school without any apparent ties.  I'll find out.

maybe or maybe not, but unfortunately this is now a wasted scholarship, even a project HS recruit could have helped this year with the very short bench the ladies have this year.

Gambles of taking in transfers, there is always a reason they transfer in the first place.
