June Jones, the former SMU head coach who went 36-43 at SMU, is back in coaching.  After applying for the Hawaii head coaching job and not getting it, he has been hired as the offensive coordinator at Kapolei High School in Hawaii.

Just shows how much that guy wants to stay in Hawaii I guess.  I am guessing that he really doesn't need the money.  Just think...coaching without the recruiting and headaches of the head coach....or will there be no recruiting with June around?

Just thought this announcement was interesting.

I'm kinda shocked he didn't get the head coaching job.  The governor of Hawaii was set to approved special funding to keep him in 2007.

Nonetheless, he's had ties to Hawaii for years and years.  The whole reason he left his interim gig with the Chargers was to return to Hawaii.  High school coordinator position sounds like he gets to semi-retire in a place he loves.

I used to really like the guy before he sold out to SMU then tried to bolt to ASU.  Now, I don't much care where he lives or what he does.

I hope he can help the Hurricanes.  They went 5-4 last year and got pounded by Mililani 76-21.

I just hope June doesn't quit if Farrington beats them this next season.

And what ever happened to June's Inner City Ministry ?
