You have the Latin points down and I love me some fiesta but at first read it sounded   Like they would only hire a Hispanic coach.  Different.  I think their pay range will get some looks for sure regardless of ethnicity.

I can't for the life of me figure out why UTSA wouldn't hire a Hispanic coach.  Is their White Lady athletic director too tied into the Good Ol' White Boy Coach network?

You tell me.  You all talk about the future of America demographically, I go to bed and wake up with it.  I eat, drink, and breath it.

I should take you all on a field trip to one of the parties our Mexican friends throw...especially during the World Cup...so you can feast on trompo tacos, drink tequila, and karaoke into the wee hours of the morn in old neighborhoods you wouldn't dare set foot in by yourself.

It's fun!

I kind of feel bad for UTSA at this point. Trying to do a coaching search this late in the cycle is difficult. They have had several (Luper, Applewhite, several other P5 Coordinators and the Rice HC) state no thanks at this point. That is one thing that RV got right in canning Mac soonner rather than later, and Coker did not give UTSA that luxury....

Update:  Baliff and Luper decline, looks like Craig Naivar, former Houston head coach Tony Levine and former Kentucky head coach Hal Mumme are the finalists.  I would take Levine in a heartbeat out of those three:

I think the easiest way to look at it is:

If these three had been the finalists for the UNT head coaching job how would we have felt. I know I would have been pissed and thought "same old UNT thinking small-time". If these are the finalist then RowdyTalk might just implode.

Not even close. Mumme hasnt even been contacted by UTSA.

and one of my full Mexican nephews

Is he always full because of all the sabritones? Or is he always like half full of sabritones, half full of bimbo?

UTSA is 48% full Mexican nieces and nephews Hispanic, which - you're right - is still a very large proportion compared to many universities in Texas (21% at UNT). Bexar County is about 60% Hispanic, while Texas is 45%.
