I was thinking this morning how we need to get some more beef on this team and I know Littrell and Co. will jump on this as soon as Dead Period ends but I hope we are able to bring in some big boys. I was just looking through the All-Area Team and came across this Kid and thought, we need to throw an offer his way and see what happens.

Jimmy Nelson Arlington Martin 6-3, 250

YES, watched him play vs Allen and this kids motor is undeniable.

Not enough Plus 1's for this, just spit water all over my screen in class, laughing so hard. Kids said, "Coach what is it?" To which I replied, "get back to work!"

Definitely wasn't a shot at you at all, just funny how college football fans stalk these kids.

But, on the other hand, I kinda like the info. As long as someone else gets it.

Follow the guys whose job it is to follow these kids. They let you know when something substantial happens. Second-hand stalking: definitely less creepy.

Here's a head scratcher.  Big DT, 3 star rated, with offers we should be able to beat out.

Darius Anderson has been waiting for a Texas offer or Missouri offer that don't seem to be coming because of his 6'0" height.

      What's the appeal of Carthel? Honest question. I don't follow FCS closely, but it seems like every time a position opens up at UNT people on the board want Carthel to fill it. I see he won the NCAA Division II championship in 2017 and has an overall record of 89–48 which are both impressive. However, his run at SFA from a W/L perspective looks similar to Seth's at UNT in that he built up the program in a few years, but he seems to be plateauing over the past few years. I'd love to hear more about what the advocates see in him and why he'd be a good fit for UNT specifically.

      Odus Mitchell - What Exactly are Too High Standards at UNT?

      I really want people to read this: https://meangreensports.com/honors/north-texas-athletics-hall-of-fame/odus-mitchell/3 This man was and still is very much under appreciated here. I love the legend of Mean Joe anyone under 50 can remember seeing prime NFL Mean Joe playing. There is no Joe Greene in a North Texas uniform without Odus Mitchell. We have low expectations because with dismiss what Mitchell showed us was possible here. Heaps of excuses and disgruntled fans attacking each other on our board. Odus Mitchell is the kind of "Old Denton" I want. And MAYBE if we truly honored him properly and consistently as the MOST IMPORTANT FIGURE in Mean Green Football history we could knock off some of the negative karma. The Mean Joe Coke commercial is cute but is never something remotely associated with UNT Football without Mitchell rebuilding the program from WWII hiatus, winning, integrating CFB in Texas, and bringing Mean Joe to Denton. Hayden Fry doesn't have enough in Denton to come and rescue without Mitchell. How this program has underachieved for 20 years is an insult to his legacy imo. I wasn't alive for his tenure and likely you weren't either. But legacy is about what you can read about when there aren't cute videos!
