Double explain You have lost me.  English has 3 years at worst 4 years at best. Kincade is 1 year minimun, while at a very important (most important for us) position of need.  Landing a guy like English who can make a heavy impact for multiple years.  Neither is guaranteed to work out but  their offer list is so impressive that I can't count them out.  I am personally more excited about Honeybear than Kincade.

Though we have struggled to recruit defensive linemen under McCarney and I understand that so getting English in here is highly important. However, the game of football particularly in CUSA in predicated on QB play. Kincade brings in the kind of talent that will be able to bridge that gap between Alec Morris and grooming a HS QB to take over. That is giant to me.

Having a legit quarterback who can make plays with an addition to a running game will do wonders for any team. Again, La Tech went 9-5 in 2014 and 9-4 this past season with 2 one and done qbs along with Dixon in the running game. Now imagine having Alec Morris/Jeffrey Wilson then next season Devante Kincaid/Jeffrey Wilson....then the our next Qb is ready to go.

I agree except for the part I put in bold.  I think Littrell and staff will surprise us with this recruiting class.  I am also intrigued by Shanbour and would be interested to see how the new staff assesses his chances.  Hell, as tough as it has been for Greer, some decent coaching might help him out.  His JUCO/HS highlights looked good.  He looked like a totally different, not in a good way, player once he arrived in Denton.

I hope so. All I have seen (as well as Chris Wilkerson) is Shanbour doing QB warm up drills and finally getting a series or two at the end the spring game this last spring. He took his unit in for a TD, but there wasn't anything spectacular in the debut.  When a new QB is on board, they turned him over to Shanbour to coach them in the basics. Now, I don't know if Shanbour is a viable "game day" candidate or not, But what I do know is that from the first time I saw him two springs ago, he had the quickest release I've seen in decades and the coaches have consistently used him in a student-coaching role. In addition he always seems to be one of the most motivated to participate in off season work outs.  I haven't done any internet research on him,(others have posted utube stuff), but I've always wondered why they brought him in if they weren't going to give him an even chance like all the other QB's.

Don't disagree in the least.  I am just worried about the sitting a year and getting cold feet possibility.  The talent is obviously there.  Think it can also help recruiting highly rated DFW kids too.

If he signs with us and leaves again I believe his career would be over. He's been at Ole Miss for 3 years (1 was a redshirt). He will come here and be forced to sit and that will be his 4th year. If he leaves after sitting out (which I am not sure why he would) his FBS career would be over. He could go to some FCS to never be heard from again. Or he could patiently wait his turn and potentially be a legitimate Mean Green legend and showcase his abilities to the NFL to be something.

Talking about English, not Kincade.

I don't think I've heard anyone have any negatives about Shanbour, other than that he had turf toe and I think another injury, and therefore may be injury-prone.  But beyond that, it's all been positive reviews...so where has his chance been?  And the extra workouts sound very much like DT, who certainly didn't disappoint (often) when he doubled down.

didn't Shanbour go all scorched-earth on twitter after the season?

Shanbour went Blitzkrieg alright.  Something about someone stealing from the locker room. Probably wishes he kept that one in-house.

Why?  If someone stole something of his, why not let people know about it.  This is not the kind of behavior to keep in the locker room.

Because he probably should have gone to the coaching staff to report it.

Here is a story that illustrates my point of "how in hell do coaches make their decisions/assessments these days"?

http://www.star-telegram.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/mac-engel/article53024140.html

However awful the feelings and bad tastes were created by the arrest and suspension of Boykin, Kohlhausen changed nearly all of that with a performance that should make everyone reconsider, again, the accuracy of scouting services. The kid could play, and he should have been starting somewhere before the final week of his college career

Should add how many offers someone receives to that highlighted part above as well.

Why even fire that one over the bow? I think for a G5 school that doesn't get 4 star recruits, looking at the number of offers is a pretty level headed way of doing it.

BTW, how did you figure out how to get your post trail all the way down the page?

Kohlausen signed with Houston out of high school. And he won one game. I don't see how that proves people wrong.

A guy who was good enough to sign with Houston out of high school should be good enough by his fifth year to beat a team that is about as good as the team he plays for.
