Seth was on today at 3:05.

First thing that stuck out to him at UNT. It was the commitment to winning from the President down. and the fact it was in a recruiting hot bed were both great factors in coming to Denton.

Sounds alot more relaxed and more in his comfort zone than he did on his first few days!

Same things DMac said.

Really the same thing any new coach says. It's not like he is going to go in the air and say "they really have some upper management problems, but I'm hopeful they will get it worked out." Never happen.

This is coach speak of the highest order.

Sounds like he learned his interviewing skills from Stoops, not Leach.  Hopefully, he will coach more like Stoops than Leach.

He doesn't believe this. If he did, he would've never taken the job.

Really? Because someone else was offering him $1 million a year to be a head coach?

No.

Its simple coach speak. Same thing Dickey, Dodge, Mac, and Benford said when they were hired.

And it's what he should say. Just no reason to go gaga about it.

Texas just paid $850k per year for Tulsa's co-OC that allegedly doesn't even call plays and was willing to pay $1.2 million to TCU's co-OC that doesn't call plays.. Littrell would've gotten his money regardless after the way UNC played this year. He would've gotten a job this year or next paying that $1M or more as an OC or HC.

We are not paying him a million dollars... where did you get that from?

Back to the topic at hand.

So the staff won't be complete until after the new year. That leads me to believe we are waiting on bowl games to be finished to name the staff. Notice how he didn't mention the two guys whose names were already leaked.

Who says we're not?  We haven't heard the exact number.

He did say that he hoped to have the staff put together by the new year.  So I guess I don't need to be hitting "refresh" on this board every five minutes tomorrow waiting for an announcement. :)

A lot of college football coaches are sneaky -- look at Bobby Petrino. Littrell could be saying all the right things about RV and UNT leadership while privately having reservations. The salary and proximity to Oklahoma would make a lot of us, in his position, willing to silence our doubts.

I don't think we'll know Littrell's level of belief in UNT until he's tested by adversity.

It was nice to hear him talk about the boosters and the alumni and how we are hungry. Also we will probably have to wait for the freedom of information request on his contract since I'm not sure when the next salary disclosure is on it.

Also the guy makes me want to renew my MGC membership I may have to schedule a 1on1 with 90 to talk me off the ledge...
