Cross is making his bones with local talent. For him to maintain that stream of success he needs to stay somewhat local. UNT will be the only opening!

He wouldn't have to move!

Double the money and hire his entire staff! HOPE!

I just don't see him leaving UTA to come here.

This.

He ain't leaving his alma mater for a position that is light years worse than his current one, when he can make significantly higher $$$ at many other schools well above ours in the NCAA hierarchy.

Don't be a bit surprised to see him at an AAC school or Big XII school. Memphis might not be a bad place for him, same with Oklahoma State. Maybe even Arkansas or A&M, if things go bad for either of those teams in conference play in the SEC.

That ship sailed awhile ago.

Yep. He would have loved the job in 2012, but now we are the laughing stock of local college basketball as well as football.

Thanks RV.

Cross should tell UNT to go pound sand, we could have gotten him back in 2012, but RV had to have his guy, just like Shanice, just like Peterson. At least we did not pay Marquette to take Benford off their hands unlike Peterson at WFU.

If Cross leaves his alma mater it won't be for us. I'm not convinced he would have taken it in 2012 but the talent on the roster may have been such he thought he could have some success and end up with a big job. As others have said our spot in the hierarchy has slipped a bit since then.

I hope Scott is able to find the compensation that he is looking for right there at UTA. He has already proven himself and shouldn't need to go somewhere to prove himself all over again.

I hope that North Texas will find a coach that, in part, can create a rivalry by making the games against UTA worth watching.
