.407 vs .139.  2.92 times better results = ~ three times pay

touché I suppose. The initial comment from @rudy was about how Dodge ought not have hard feelings because of how much money he made compared to how poorly he did. I was simply making the point that Dodge DID leave us something. If the cupboard had truly been left bare for Mac we still wouldn't have a winning season since 2004 and he made 3x as much as Dodge.

I'll let this go when we stop dredging up threads about what a GREAT coaching regime Dodge was if only and but only excuses keep popping up. I'll acknowledge that he's what we could get with the budget under Gertchin, but I'll never acknowledge that he was some football mastermind hindered by some intangibles but it is what it is. He is not a college coach.  Period. He was arrogant and unyielding on that.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. I do, however give Dodge the credit for bringing the majority of pieces to Denton that contributed to the awesomeness that 2013 was. That's something Dan was unable to do himself. Dan does deserve the credit for executing with those pieces.

so, if for some crazy reason chris miles, Jordan murray, Willie ivery, Jeff wilson, kishawn mcclain, tee goree, Brandon garner, Broderick young, kevin dillman, nate brooks, etc...are pieces of a winning season in 2016 or 2017, will people on here treat Littrell like they treated mac?

Most of the guys I listed have played at a very young age and will most likely be starting and considered leaders of the team with the most experience.  Some may even be on all cusa lists.  Will fans on here say, Littrell is winning with mac's recruits...even though it will be obvious that Littrell will still have to fill in some holes, the guys I listed will be the vets and leaders.

Will mac join DT in the UNT hall of fame for the HOD bowl season? if his recruits do something in the next two years, will he get the good recruiter title that dodge gets on here?

Well....Littrell would be winning with Macs recruits until he starts winning with his own recruits...

I expect Littrell to win with Mac's recruits, what I don't expect is that he can't win with his own recruits.

Wait, which Dodge thread is this one?

That way I know what to rehash.

Either way, congrats coach on making it to state. Now send us Cokley plzkthx.

This is the one where he is STILL the worst coach in our history (possibly the history of all college football) and yet, somehow, we start a new thread every time he takes a new job or does anything.

Then again, I only read 13% of the posts

Didn't we have a year where we had 10+ field goals blocked and missed nearly the same amount of extra points.  That block last night came straight up the middle and reminded me of the terrible special teams units Dodge fielded here...

mckarney won his only bowl with dodge recruits and we did score more td's we just couldn't stop anyone . Now o have a question , can someone tell me what offenceive scheme dicky ran here? Was one back or something else?

You know, I honestly can't remember. I remember my last play was a punt return by SLC's homecoming king Tye Strickland and myself and a Navy discus thrower named Nate Michael combined on the tackle. I remember there wasn't much time left in the game after that. Looking back, I wish I'd have tried to strip the ball but you can't change the past.

We did beat the other eventual state champion that year besides Stephenville, Grapevine.

Holy cow, I didn't realize the dude was a reality star. Boy did our paths go in different directions.
