My preferred DC teaches tackling techniques designed to discourage runners, thus making opponents one-dimensional.

I mean I guess he can go to SMU and be Matt Davis' backup if he really wants to. I doubt that he is foolish enough to do that unless he doesn't care about playing time and just wants to be a SMUg douche.

He has no real connections to Texas high school football so I would be very surprised if he's hired.

Even so.  If I were a d line prospect, I think I would take notice if recruited by the person who wasthe defensive line coach coming from one of the final four teams.

I wouldn't read too much into this..... I doubt we get someone on that level and we don't know how well he can coordinate with other areas of defense.

John Papuchis

He is currently UNC's linebacker coach. He was at Nebraska from 2008-14, including severing as Nebraska's Defensive Coordinator from 2012-14, so he must have experience recruiting Texas. He also coached at LSU under Nick Saban from 2004-07. Papuchis and Littrell were both graduate assistants at Kansas back in the 2003 under Mangino, so they go back a long way.

Could be our guy.

I'm a little weary about coaches who go from coordinators to assistants. At least he is still young and maybe he just wasn't the right guy at Nebraska. He even had a FB group set-up by Nebraska fans wanting him fired..

Also, check out this thread. His defense gave up the FBS rushing record.
