Need I remind everyone that Washington State lost to FCS powerhouse Portland State this year.

they also played the rest of their season beating oregon, Oregon state, ucla, Arizona state and went bowling.

Beat me to it. They were also 2 away from beating Stanford.

Always cracked me up seeing other playcallers with these massive play sheets and complex calls, while Leach would be on the sideline with a notecard that had 15 plays scribbled on it 

 

Sometimes they have those large play call sheets because they have a large number of formations like Stanford and David Shaw. So same draw up of a play, but just in a different formation. 

Yeah it is surprising how easy it is to call up a play. A lot of time they just tell the X or Z what to run, then every other WR runs a route based on the X. After so many reps, you know if the X is running a drag, you as the H ( in this example) are running a post, except if they explicitly tag you to run Follow, in which you'll run a dig. So easy to remember. 

The hard part is communicating the formation and changing blocking assignments at speed.

Every indication is that he is still headed to UNT to coach the WR. He said his goodbye to Coach Leach on twitter yesterday(@CoachFilaWSU).

Yeah, I saw that tweet too.   I took it to mean it was already "out" that Filani was on his way to Denton.

I interpreted it as us getting an openly gay coach.
