With the mid term juco signing day nearing, and our staff still being determined I though this would be a good time to discuss the direction of our recruiting in this inaugural Littrell class.

Personally, when I see a guy like Miles get All C-USA freshman honors, it makes me think that in the right circumstances could build a good class just focusing on high school players in the DFW area and Texas/Oklahoma.  That is how you build a solid foundation.  It will come with initial growing pains and perhaps not as much initial winning.

Mac went with lot of juco's in his last year and there were good examples of some of them panning out, like James Gray.  Others were busts.

Given the timing of our hire, it would seem to me that we would be better off just going after high school talent this year unless a great juco player drops in our lap.

Obviously transfers are a different story. My hope is we can land a graduated QB from another program who is immediately eligible to play and participates in spring practices.

i don't like the juco route, i like the hs kids who are around and the others in the conference think he has been playing for 10 years because he kills them ever year. Unlike having a qb who is so bad you thing he has been starting for your team the last ten years.

We have a relatively small soph/rising junior class so we could stand to add 5-6 Jucos in this class.

Some people say build for the future but if you don't win in your first couple of years, there won't be much future.

I agree with a strategy of using a Juco to fill immediate needs and using HS to build depth.
