I saw the beginnings of this when McCarney was hired. I noticed that former Letterman were making more of a presence in and around the program.

It's about time. I've had encounters with former players at games and when I not only remembered them, but their number as well, they were all shocked. They had no expectation of being remembered. I found that very sad......and symptomatic of our dysfunctional system.

If you can encourage Letterman to return and participate in the program more, then they not only bring themselves back, but their extended families as well.

What's next? The revival of the Geezles?

UNT has completely lost all contact with their Lettermen over the course of the last decade.  I do know some of the previous players who have donated/given to the program over the last couple years and they mentioned that it is all give give give to the program with nothing in return.  The Lettermen of the program can and will whole heartedly support this program again if they feel wanted.   Most of the them absolutely love the program and would jump at the opportunity to be part of it again in a support function.

That is really disheartening to hear, but hopefully this is something that will be corrected.

I wouldn't say completely.  Witnesses have posted on this board of Dunbar, Trice and Cobbs sightings.  There are probably a lot more, though not nearly as much as we would like.

I would love to tap into more Dickey era players.  Guys like Kassell, Spencer, Neon Don, Buckles....The last era of winning for UNT football.  Those guys are probably playing Texas Hold'm on Wednesday nights with each other, shooting whiskey and chuckling at anyone who says it's too hard to win at UNT.

Cobbs was there this morning (Littrell mentioned that he'd gotten to meet him earlier in the day) and I saw The Great Johnny Quinn walking out as I was waling into the stadium for the press conference.

I'm kinda surprised Mean Joe Greene wasn't there today.
