Cal fans are not looking at this as a plus.... many are very downtrodden by their more "intellectual" counterparts who believe that athletics don't have a place in an institution of higher learning (sound familiar?)

If the deal with Littrell falls through I would expect that Sonny and Meacham are the first two people we call.

I believe Cal has more scholarship varsity sports than any university in the nation.  They do, however, struggle with maintaining competitiveness in a P5 conference because of their academics (as do all UC campuses, but somehow, not Stanford).  I just read this morning that the AVERAGE GPA of freshman admitted to 6 of the 9 UC campuses is over 4.0.  THAT's tough academic standards for bringing in P5 FBS football players!

Under the "leadership" of Sandy Barbour (now at illustrious Penn St.), the whole department went to hell in a hand basket.  She attempted to cut several sports.  Baseball being one of them, flipped her a Major League bird, made it all the way to the College World Series, and raised perpetual funding from alumni.

Does this sound familiar to me?  Not very much at all.

I love what Sonny Dykes did there. I feel like he already had his fill of CUSA coaching tho, so I don't see there being a chance he considers us. I sure would be excited about it.

Speaking of Cal. Jeff Tedford(Cal head coach from 2002-2012) informed the BC Lions that he is resigning to get back into college coaching. Yet another name to consider with all of the job openings.

How long would it take him to adjust his game so that his team isn't penalized for 12 men on the field?

we can always call chico

Or Ramon Flanigan.  If the games end up being awful again we could at least be entertained by SilverEagle giving him the business at halftime.
