Reports are swirling that UTSA OC has been let go and possibly one other position coach.

AD has unofficially said salary for new OC could double what Coach Brown was making.

I think Jinks would be a boost to them with his San Antonio connections. I know nUTSAck is our rival but I would rather watch 2 very good teams square off than the tickle fight we saw this year.

I don't know if Jink would leave Tech to go to UTSA for an OC position.  If Coker is planning to retire in a year or so then perhaps he could be the head coach in waiting.  Jinks would be a great hire for them.

I don't see Jinks taking OC job at UTSA, over what he currently does. But I've been wrong plenty before.

It sounds like this is what may happen.  A high school head coach in San Antonio who once coached with Jinks said he is angling to be the head coach there.  This feels like a real possibility since Coker hasn't been canned but he is gutting his staff.  Jinks has yet to be a coordinator in college so this would be a good move for him and could set him up to take over when Coker leaves.  Said coach also told me that Coker's health is becoming an issue and he wondered how much longer Coker would be able to coach.  He also confirmed that Jinks did interview for the UNT job.

I think Jinks may want to sit tight at a rising Tech program.  His opportunities will come.  Now if UTSA replaces Coker he would be all over that.
