Chapel Hill is an interesting place, I have extended family by marriage there, so have been a few times in recent years.  It seems kind of like a cross between Denton and Austin, but with more pine trees and an assumption of basketball greatness.

Seem like classy fans.

Honestly Harry, I'm never been treated anything but great every time I travel to North Carolina.  I hope we get an away game at UNC Charlotte in the near future, and I'll travel to see it.

UNC has several fan boards, the more active of which you have to pay to be a member. But as I've said, they consider this to be almost a non-event if Littrell leaves. There has been no talk at all about this in the local papers.

Chapel Hill is indeed an idyllic college town but UNC has much to answer for regarding the handling of their 20 year on-going scandal.

My family history goes back to at least 1732 in North Carolina, helping the Moravians settle there, as they did in the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania area, so I can see that things may seem to take a long time there.

Excellent, Euless. The Moravians have a rich history here. Great cookies, too!

I love the honesty with which some of them have described their own religion (actually named "Unitas Fratrum", or "Unity of the Brethren"), in so many words, "the food was the best part".  If you are ever in Winston Salem around lunch or dinner time, do not miss a meal at the Old Salem Tavern in the Old Salem Historic District.  You will never regret choosing the chicken pot pie.

It is a Basketball School in Basketball country, so a good football team is seen as s luxury.  If our football program dominated CUSA for 15 years and we happen to have nice little basketball run in the midst of that no one would sweat a basketball assistant leaving.  Texas is football country and TCU doesn't have a couple of recent national championships in the sport most important to them.

I know this is difficult for us UNT fans to believe, but meaningful football is still being played THIS SEASON. UNC is in the hunt for the national title and is playing the No. 1 team in the country for the ACC championship in five days. They don't give a damn right now what Littrell does AFTER this season.

I'll try to keep that in mind for my next trip to W-S.

1. They don't seem to be douchebags

2. They don't seem overly concerned about losing him.

They put a lot of faith in Fedora believing the offense will be fine as long as he's there. It's as if Gary Patterson lost his top defensive coach.  TCU fans wouldn't care as long as Patterson is still calling the shots.

They aren't 30 miles away, know UNT fans, know how terrible we have been for a decade, have first hand knowledge about the terrible AD that works at UNT.

They aren't less dbaggish, they are simply less informed...

your saying we don't have basketball greatness here?

This is well put. It would be nice if the media would lay off of trying to break the latest (most often not the greatest) news and be considerate of the UNC program who is trying to beat the #1 team in the country this week.

I went back went back to take a look at their take on the situation again.   There are a couple dbags saying high school etc...   But nothing like the tcu board was.   Also there was a bit of gold ....

"personally would go after Major Applewhite from Houston Or Darrell Dickey from Memphis. But I'm pretty sure Fed or Bubba could care less what I think...."

Somebody tell Littrell to bring me a 12 pack of Cheerwine when he comes. I can give him cash at the presser on Monday.

Catching up on old threads. I didn't know you liked that stuff.

Next time I'm checking a bag when traveling to NC I'll bring you some.

You can also just get it at most Spec's - might want to call and check first though. I know the Plano one had it a few years back before I moved.
