I don't think it hurts us because TCU would have to pony up more money than necessary for a good OC, and TCU can get a pick-o-the-litter OC out there.

If Texas wants somebody they will get them.  Even if it is at an outrageous price.

They supposedly wanted Chad Ford last season but Patterson wouldn't "pony up" the $5 million required ... so there is that one exception.

But does Cumbie want them? Associate yourself with a sinking ship may not look good on the resume.

Are we not a sinking ship, or have we already sunk?

Your comment confuses me.

footballscoop.com is reporting that North Texas has become central to the coaching market with other dominoes to fall depending what we decide. Zach Barnett reports that Meacham is considering the UNT job and a decision could come as early as tonight or tomorrow morning.

IMO it looks like the job is there for Meacham to take if he wants it.

Lets get this done so we can start talking about the new BB COACH!

We are already at the bottom. Texas is still trying to find the bottom.

Strong will be gone by next year!

He would be taking a huge gamble that he could turn around the offense in 1 year.

Because that's all Strong has left to prove himself.

He isn't taking a head coaching gig.

It hurts us becaus if TCU loses Cumbie they will try to bump up Meach's salary and convince him to stay.

I don't see them paying him more as an OC than what we're willing to pay for a HC.

It now concerns me that Meacham is leveraging for a hefty raise by delaying a decision until tonight or tomorrow. Gives TCU the chance to counter.

We don't know if we're waiting on Meacham ... or Littrell ... or if he (or Littrell) is waiting on us.

This. My gut feeling is that the fuse on the Strong bomb is getting pretty short. One more season and done for him, absent a miracle. I guess that is why they would pull out all stops to get Cumbie.
