Canales just said in the post game interview that he planned on playing all three QBs today. I guess he wasn't all that interested in winning today after all.

McNulty was McNulty, until he got knocked out of the game. And Greer came in for his reliable Interception. Smith struggled, but was better then the other two.

Sadly, our defense and special teams played well enough to win this game. In my opinion, Canales' handling of the offense, in particularly the QB position, was the biggest reason we lost.

....and Harris' embarrassing targeting penalty.

Can't argue with that.  I literally threw my hands up in the air when I saw Greer coming in.  It was a replay of all the best fails of each quarterback through the last 3 years.  Unbelievable.

Canales and this offense have really been disappointing. To not score an offensive touchdown against a below average UTEP team is all you need to know. They had nothing to lose and still weren't creative or letting it all hang out.

We have had multiple body bag games and blowout games this year. I think their were plenty of opportunities to let everyone play other than in one of our few winnable games.

This game was too much like the SMU game in that the opponent kept making catastrophic errors and North Texas' inept quarterbacking kept it from being able to capitalize on the mistakes. All three quarterbacks were horrible.

That was not targeting just an old school clean block in my book. No remarks on his behavior on the sidelines.

Under the current rules of college football, it is a 15 yard penalty and an ejection, and it hurt our team.  His behavior after the play was horrendous.

i have to make an apology to the MGN-i said we should hire Chico and after watching the game I have to say I was wrong. I knew we were in trouble when Chico said before the game all three qb would play and he named mini mac as the starter. This is not pop warner football where we all get to play and get a trophy at the end of the season.  We should have played to win!  I wonder what the new coach was thinking watching this game and yes we have a new coach.

I am very disappointed in Canales.  He mailed this one in.  Offense could not score a touchdown.  I am now completely convinced that  Canales was part of the problem and very happy that RV let him know early on that he was not a HC candidate.    

I can understand playing Minimac- he is a "leader" and team captain.  But Greer?  Come on Chico

He wanted to give the QB's he brought here one last chance to play because he and them both know it's all threes last time to play a game at North Texas if the new coach is smart. McNulty is a given obviously.

A bad offense has been the issue since Mac started at UNT. Even when we won 9 it was due to a killer defense, great special teams play and one offensive weapon. If you back out defensive and special teams TDs I'm sure the 9 win season PPG would be very sad.

So that either means it's Littrell and the Meacham interview tomorrow means nothing or it's Meacham and the interview is just a formality.

Can the gamea that canales was interim coach please lay to rest that mac was the one in charge of the offensive game plan?  Canales was the one with poor play calling the last few years.

Canales had zero intention of winning that game when he decided everyone gets a turn. Completely pitiful.

I went back and saw the quote from RV from today's interview. RV said that "we're pretty close" and that they "hope to come to an agreement" early next week. That says that the coach has been chosen and they just need to agree on the terms.

This was a painful game to watch.  UTEP looked horrible and tried to give us the game, but we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.  Given the QB situation, the wishbone is sounding better and better. 

At least I took my flask.

And the Bedlam officials just let an OU player get away with the same hit except the top of the head was used for the point of contact.   No call.

I've seen two targeting "no calls" in Bedlam already. Both by OSU. The refs better get it under control before someone gets carted off the field.
