I know it's not commonplace, especially these days, but I really prefer a HC to live in and integrate themselves into the culture of a town. Everyone is quick, in a rather baseless manner, to jump down Denton's collective throat, but the quickest way for the culture to adopt a figure is for that individual to endear himself to it.

I think that this is what college football has evolved into. The offenses are so far ahead of the defenses so that most games are a shootout. Check out some of TCU,Baylor,TT, Okla ST. , and Oklahoma finishes. This is what fans want to see, and kids want to play.

He already threw his OC Shawn Watson under the bus earlier in the year. He may just try to go ANYWHERE but Austin after this year.

I'm not underwhelmed by this hire, which is good thing considering RV. It's definitely a safe hire. I hope Smatty had 90% of the input and this is his guy.

I was there. It was fun to watch. I was watching Jinks on the sideline because I thought he was a legitimate candidate, guess he isn't.

Charile's job is safe for another year unless he decides to get out while the gettin's good as they say. He will be gone after next season if he doesn't leave on his own after this season.

Watching this Baylor-TCU game right is a good look at what our offense might look like next season with Meachum at the helm.  Lots of off target throws, dropped passes, near interceptions, lack of 3rd down conversions, etc.  The rain is turning this into one ugly ballgame.  That what we might look like on a good day next season.

He doesn't have a record of winning as a head coach so I am out.  Mark my words now this is his last FBS or higher head coaching position for at least 10 years and that won't be by choice.  Get ready for some more disappointment.
