Last game of the Mean Green Challenge.  I apologize, I was mistaken when I called this the Classic.

Somehow, the Challenge seems like a terrific name for this event given the results so far.

Can we win this game tonight or are we going to lose again by two points?

From what I was reading in the Idaho game it looks like we can't make free throws. If we would have made all our free throws we would have won by six points I think.

Idaho was missing too. They missed, I believe 7 of 8 down the stretch to give us a chance.

Bad when the tournament field was apparently picked to add early wins and momentum, and turns out just the opposite.  

Even worse is losing by two point each game. If we lose by two again today I am out haha

This will be my first, and potentially my last, visit to the Pit this season...wish me luck.

Good luck. You may need it. It really could be a very fun environment. Bad basketball is prohibiting that though.

More shooting and less passing..... Come on guys!

Do we not watch what other teams do.... They are not restrained and have the freedom to shoot from where they want and when they want. We deserve to loose if the players cannot shoot the ball and have some freedom. I am basing this off the last two games. This issue was fixed each of the last two seasons, but it took us losing tons before it was fixed.

Good: Combs just made a pair of free throws

Not good: Combs looks to have hurt his left wrist. (Last night injury I think)

oh and this is happening in front of hundreds of fans. No joke, I don't see how we could have 1,000 people in here.

To be fair yes it was a horrible turnover, but Reese turns it over 9 times and stays in. Benford needs to just let them play and stop piling them after every little mistake.

      Rule Changes to NCAA Football

      Hate thinking that we need more rules but something they have to address is the players that are faking injuries bro slow down the momentum of another team and the ones that are just straight out flopping onto the ground to try and get a penalty thrown against the other team.

      Mean Green Host Rice Wednesday Night

      DENTON – The UNT men’s basketball team hosts American Athletic Conference undefeated Rice Owls Wednesday night at the Super Pit. The Mean Green (10-4, 1-1) and Owls (11-4, 2-0) are scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPNU. UNT has won the last two meetings against Rice and eight of the last 10. Wednesday will be the first time the two teams have played in Denton since 2023. The Owls are under the leadership of veteran head coach Rob Lanier who is in his first season as Rice’s head coach after serving as SMU’s head coach from 2022-24 where last year he led the Mustangs to a 20-win season and split their series against North Texas. Lanier also served as the head coach at Georgia State (2019-22) and Siena (2001-05). Rice enters Wednesday’s game having won its first two league games of the year. They opened with a 70-64 road win over Tulsa on New Year’s Day and a 68-55 home win over Charlotte on Saturday. After Wednesday night’s game the Mean Green have a six-day break before facing East Carolina on the road on Jan. 14.
