This can't be your only problem against him.  The guy wins everywhere he goes, takes Georgia to OT, and you're at "no thanks" because of a bad 4th/OT?

He ran the same plays that kept getting stuffed. I'm not in the crowd of "wow look how close that loss was." He had a chance for a big win and the calls made squandered that opportunity.

Jeez dude. Please look deeper. He turned around a bad Sam Houston program, taking them to 2 FCS national title games. He also took a terrible Blinn JC program and transformed it into the national power it is today, for which he is a member of the NJCAA hall of fame.

There is also a big difference from one upset to playing FBS competition on a week in and week out basis. That's what he did last year, and he went undefeated in the Sunbelt. His Sunbelt conference record after 2 years is 13-1.

Research is a good thing.

5-6 at Sam is not nearly as bad as 1-11 at North Texas.

Darrell Dickey won 26 straight in the SunBelt and got canned a year and a half later. FBS competition week in and week out? Seriously? Last year GSU beat, Savannah State (0-12), South Alabama (6-7), Appalachian State (7-5), New Mexico State (2-10), Idaho (1-10), Georgia State(1-11), Troy (3-9), Texas State(7-5), and ULM (4-8). Some real world beaters there. Combined record of 31-77. Outside of App State and maybe, MAYBE Texas State, which of those teams would've beaten our '14 team? None.

Bullshit. Our 2014 team would have split with those teams. Maybe. Loss would be likely if we played ANY of them on the road.

Competitive wise, CUSA is a sliver above the Belt. Hell, half the teams in CUSA were in the Belt 2 years ago. We would have the exact same record in the Belt this year.

I notice how you leave out the ultra competitive games with NC State (1 point loss) and Georgia Tech (4 point loss in a really good game) last year and the overtime loss to Georgia this year.

He can't help the conference he is in, and when playing tough OOC competition, his teams show up.

Meanwhile, UNT is getting the F blown out by an FCS in the worst loss in college football history.

Dont worry, you'll get your baby Briies (or something similiar), and it will be disasterous.

Really don't know what Cr1028 has against Fritz, here is what I posted in the other thread when he stated Fritz has never built anything:

Fritz took over GSU in 2014.  In 2013 GSU played in FCS and went 7-4.  They played one FBS school and got throttled.  Fritz has gone 16-6 in two years so far while only playing two FCS teams. That is the exact same number we have played, except Fritz beat both.  Monken built a good FCS program, but Fritz has coached them in FBS.  His recruiting those two years has buried us.

Before that, Fritz took over FCS SHSU in 2010.   The previous coach, Todd Whiten had lead SHSU to a 25-28 record over five years and never got them into the playoffs.  Fritz took that program and went 40-15 over the next four years, getting to the national championship twice  (those NDSU teams are tough).  His recruiting was also great there.

Before that, he was at DII Central Mizzou for 13 years.  So you can't say he is some spoiled by excess P5 darling.

Over the last five years Fritz has gotten post season eligible every year and lost a grand total of five conference games.   You can consider those wins to be the dregs, but guess what, most people consider CUSA to be a dreg conference.  If he can come in here and beat the dregs, get us bowl eligible most years and recruit like he has everywhere else then BRING IT ON.  I would much rather beat the dregs than get hammered 41-7 by a conference mate that is barely above .500, it's no brainer.
