They aren't facing a Gary Patterson defense? Mayfield completed less than half his passes too. Riley is still my favorite. Patterson just has a great defense.

Me either, when they can't move the ball and TCU has their 3rd string LBs in one who just got converted from safety be serious.

This thread is funny.

More like it is very sad. It is amazing to see people take one small snapshot of a person's work and make a decision on how well they would do. I guess based on this logic Ohio State is a very poor team and we would never want someone like that Urban fellow.

what is amazing is watching two other OC's take their 2nd string QB and produce pretty substantial numbers (both on the road) TCU (had 1 week of practice reps and never been a starter, facing number 7 ranked team in country on road), another Baylor who was already playing back up QB he goes down. Let's call in our 3rd string oh wait, we just converted him from WR to QB JUST IN CASE. He steps in and runs the offense like he had been starting from Day 1.  Amazing is you guys think this is a knee jerk.  I got to watch 3 different OC's all "presumably" interested in this job.  Please tell me, based on how they got their QBs ready to play or executed in a mid game crisis (starter/backup going down) who do you want?  Trevor Knight used to be OUs starter, he should be more than capable of stepping in and running that offense. Yet which offense looked most anemic?  Come on guys, I don't pick to pick, just want our fan base to finally be educated and see what we COULD have.

Have no fear, Mean Green Nation.

Whoever RV hires will be a disaster.

History will repeat itself again and we will find ourselves having these same threads in 2019, just like we had them in 2010 and 2006...

TCU redshirt senior Bram Kohlhausen played for Tony Levine at UH for 2 years before having a year of JUCO and then walking on at TCU. He played in 3 games for UH and 4 last year for TCU. It is not as if he has never been under the lights before. He went 5 of 11 for 122yds and 2 TDs. I guess that is impressive by NT qb standards.

TCU redshirt freshman Foster Sawyer looked like a redshirt freshman going 8/18 for 107 yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs.

Baylor redshirt sophomore Chris Johnson was the backup for Seth Russell last year and played in 4 games last year. He was an early enrollee and has gone through 3 springs. The only reason he is not the backup this year is due to Stidham's ability. Being a WR gives him a better chance to play(much like Tannehill at A&M). OSU's pass defense is ranked 95th in the nation.

I can't explain Trevor Knight, he was atrocious but Lincoln Riley has only been working with him for less than one year. Trevor Knight was not a starter under Lincoln Riley. He was a starter under Jay Norvell and Josh Heupel. He never started in the air-raid offense.

I kept thinking last night, it is just not fair that Baylor's third string QB would be the best QB we have in our program or have had in a very long time..  how that can happen just blows my mind.

I guess all I am saying is it should be thoroughly looked at.  I appreciate your back ground knowledge.  None of those QB numbers are crazy good, but their offense kept at it, and had a chance to win.  Maybe the no thanks to him was pre mature, but I like what TCU and Baylors offense does much more than OU. While he is successful and a fine OC. My personal preference lies elsewhere.

Harry I can't agree more.  How we got to the point where we are now is jaw dropping.
