From Football Scoop:

Sonny Dykes: Last week Dan Wolken of USA Today noted that he understands that Sonny Dykes is looking to leave Cal. Today, Trav Haney of ESPN added to that, saying, “Those who know the program say they would be surprised if Dykes returned in 2016. If there’s an opening in his home state of Texas, even at the Group of 5 level, Dykes could get in the mix.”

I just looked up his Wikipedia page, and have to consider it weird that he's married to Kate Golding, granddaughter of the old Wichita Falls High School coaching legend Joe Golding.  She may know a few things about running the single wing (or wildcat, whatever) offense.  I'd say he probably knows a few things about the state of Texas.

11-21 record so no to Mr Dykes.  You need to be near .500 at program like Cal too many resources there.   Recruits that have realistic NFL aspirations go to Cal all the time. You are not getting those recruits at North Texas until you put together two or three seasons with 8+ wins.  With that said I would take ANYONE if that meant RV was kicked out as consequence.

I would so be on board with this. Good offensive coach, Texas ties, successful at La Tech, has seemed to have turned Cal around considering their situation and restrictions. Seems to be able to recruit, especially at QB. Somebody send our clueless AD this link.
