Which Current Assistants Do You Want Interviewed?

Personally, I'm hoping Chico and Tommy Perry will be interviewed by whomever the new coach is. I'd say Kevin Patrick. But, if one of his old teammates is hired by The U, he likely gets a call from them pretty quickly.

Mike Grant did a great job as RB coach his first three seasons here. Last two, he's done a good job of getting Carlos Harris to have consistent production...in spite of the QB situation. Maybe Grant as well?

I hope chico get a head coaching job at a D2 school at least. Tommy Perry and Kevin Patrick are good coaches so I hope they get a look. everyone else can go on their merry way; especially the good ole boys that mac loves so much.

Only way I would want chico to stay as an OC is if his style agrees with the head coach. They need to be on the same page.

Wasn't Patrick the guy who flipped Roderick Young? That's one of the very few recruiting battles I recall us winning in recent years.

I'm ok with keeping at least one coach from this staff. It will allow some continuity during the transition. I hope the new head coach won't need more than that and already has someone in mind for recruiting coordinator.

I agree with others here.

Perry & Patrick appear to be critical members of the recruiting staff. With the difficulty whomever is hired as the new HC will face as he takes on a rushed recruiting season and a roster impacted by a 2015 recruiting season focused on the JUCO ranks, it would seem helpful to at least maintain ties with some of the players currently being recruited and contacts made during the reportedly successful camps in recent years.

Ultimately, though, I want the new HC to be fully empowered to wipe things clean.

Yes. He's also the guy who was able to turn Grindle's wasted scholly into Darrien McNair! His recruiting is pretty awesome! His defensive line is not very impressive though.

Perry's special teams have been pretty good while here and he does well in recruiting as well.

Seems like we're going to have most of the defense return. So, new DC should have experienced players to work with.

I know the circumstances are really hamstringing Grant right now as recruiting co-ordinator, but he's not showing any kind of life or creative ways to overcome and recruit anyone. I'm fine seeing him go.

And, no matter what, we cannot have a new HC roll in here and have Chico still on this staff. That will not go well.
