TRS? really?  For someone making 1.5mil?  I would think that no state income tax would be a bigger incentive.  Besides, with 12 years in he's already vested.

why? you wouldn't wanna be set up for the rest of your life and help your family be set up for success?? TRS allows you to retire on your highest 5 paid years of income during your tenure.  If you could retire on an average of 1-1.5 mil?  I would be all over that.
