Some things that excited me are that our new point guard had 13 assist and ZERO turnovers in addition to 31 points. Look Dominic Artis to be the newcomer of the year. UTEP also has shooters. Trey Touchet won the 3 point contest by going 28-30, he was a perfect 15-15 in the first round. Interior play is/and will be a big question mark but this is the first time UTEP has had great guard play in over 4 years.

did utep win that game lol, utep's down years have been better than our good years. how they can recruit to ep is impressive. i grew up there, left and never looked back.

you mean UTEP had a real three point contest that involved the men's team shooting 30 shots? Impossible.... I hear UNT does it better. This make me even more frustrated about the basketball madness. The men got 15 minutes to scrimmage and the three point contest was a joke. I am sure people from the AD were sitting there thinking wow this is going great. In reality other than about ten minutes of the men's scrimmage the rest of the night was well below average. We need a 40 minute men's scrimmage, a legit three point contest featuring 6 men shooting 30 shots with multiple rounds, a four guards skills competition, and a four man dunk contest. The scrimmage should be last, because college dunk contests are usually underwhelming. Three point contest however can be something special. I now believe the ball was dropped even more at the basketball madness event.

A scrimmage that totals 172 points would be fun to watch. We got to watch 15 minutes of break away dunks and walk-ons. The teams combined scored less than the 72 points scored by the one UTEP team.

I heard the reason for the short session was fear of injuries. I agree with you though I would like to see more.

when we did this under Trilli they ran a full 40 minutes, had a real three point contest and they dunked over ball racks and fans. I also never remember seeing the ladies at any of these of events until the past few years.

I like including the ladies during the 3 point shooting contest. I just hated the format they used. It looked like they didn't plan anything and just came up with a (bad) idea on the spot.
