Cause after a humiliating loss to Clemson he is likely going to end up getting fired.

for the record - I am not interested in the least.  But it does beg the question would we even be interested in a bounce back candidate?

I did a quick search before expressing an opinion to confirm/deny my gut. Golden is a breakeven coach over the last 10 years and his wins are on a downward trend. No thank you.

To properly answer your question, if the above situation was reversed I would at least give him a look.

I agree with going the "up and coming" coordinator route....higher risk=higher reward.

I just don't think were are going to be able to get someone with prior Power 5 head coaching experience, especially on with Texas ties, which I am beginning to think is critical

Miami is still without full scholarships due to NCAA penalties.  Still, you can't get beat like that at home when you are "The U."  Was happy to see Testaverde, Highsmith, and other former Hurricane greats were there to see it firsthand, though.  Humility is good for "The U."

Also enjoyed the end of the OU-Texas Tech game where they kept showing the thoroughly disgusted Kingsbury.  Glad to see the quarterback he wouldn't release, then blocked from playing last year, beat his butt on national television. Karma's a bitch, ain't it, Kliffy?

In the past we have hired three men who had been fired from their most recent head coaching position  -  Hayden Fry, Bob Tyler, and Dan McCarney.  Only one of those had any real success here.   Maybe we need to look in a different direction this time.

Coaches are going to get fired...that's the way football go. I think the circumstances, body of work, trends and personal traits make the difference when you are looking at a retread. That applies mostly to P5 retreads IMO because some of those schools just won't accept any losing seasons..."Yeah, but what have you done for us lately?".

Have they fired their AD yet?

No need. Golden was there almost 3 years before the current AD took the job. He doesn't have a history of failed coaching hires but I suspect he will be held accountable for the next one he makes. Here's his bio: http://www.hurricanesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205562140

From the article, it appears he has been very focused on facilities recently.  It also appears that the football team has recently gone into the toilet.  I wonder if AD's should have someone on their staff attend to facilities so they can focus on the on court/field performance of their sports teams?

Miami fans and alumni flew a banner over the stadium yesterday demanding his termination.

Gosh I sure hope this doesn't put a blemish on The U's reputation and embarrass anyone.

Rick

Please tell me what "The U's" reputation is and how it is worth defending?

An effective one.

Well, I am sure that the Miami AD was undecided until he saw that banner. I never want to pattern our program after Miami of Florida's.
