Notice that UNT is paying pretty well compared to peers.

I posted this last week, it has all fbs coaching salaries, minus a handful, ranked. Bailiff makes $805k base salary.

I started some research yesterday, but didn't get it finished.  I was looking at current FBS coaches who have taken fairly significant pay cuts over the course of their careers.

Larry Coker, UTSA – current salary is $425,000,  was $2MM at Miami in 2006
Dennis Franchione, Texas State – current salary is $425,000, was $2MM at TAMU in 2005
Terry Bowden, Akron – current salary is $425,000, reportedly had a base salary of $155K per year at Auburn in 1998
Frank Solich - $600,000, $839,260 at Nebraska in 2003
Skip Holtz - $600,000, $2MM at USF
Norm Chow - $725,000, $1MM as OC for Tennessee Titans
Bob Davie - $825,000, base at Notre Dame was around $550K in 2001

Point I was trying to prove is that coaches past salaries should not be a be-all, end-all measuring stick for their interest in the salary we can offer.

I say offer Skip Holtz a $300k a year raise and bring him over to Denton, can not get much worse than Ruston as places to live
