I think hate is a very strong word that I am beginning to see regularly on this board . If seems to come from about 2 dozen or so "haters" of R.V. I can't if you have any clout,or if your financial contributions to UNT Athletics is bigger than a breadbasket. Therefore, I am asking "the leader of the pack" to please put together a survey as the number of "fire R.V." members you represent, and the combined annual financial contribution of said group. I am not asking for names, but just trying to get a handle how deep the water is. You have asked the Athletic Department to be more open, and I am asking the same of you. I have no hidden agenda, but whether we like it or not numbers and money do get peoples attention. I would appreciate your consideration of my request.

Why?  Does he not have the same opportunity as those in support of the banner and the anti-RV crowd?

I probably give a little over $1200 a year, not counting the 100 mile trip one way to see a game. But, my oldest brother graduated from NT in '68', my middle brother in '71, myself you can see. My oldest daughter in 2001 and oldest son in 2005, not going to count other relatives. I think I can say this for the group that RV needs to step down or relieved of his  present duties. I also think most of what I have read was civil. Most went out of there way to say there was no 'Hate" just the business of college athletics.

My financial contributions to UNT athletics are zero dollars and zero cents. I will continue to give at 100% of my current level for as long as RV is AD.

This.

Although to be fair, I'm not donating because we don't win. I don't want RV to be AD, but if by some miracle(we're talking less than winning the lottery chances) he creates winning programs in the big 3 sports, I will donate. Either way it doesnt matter. The student athletes still get their scholarships whether I donate or not.

It's simple. Win and I'll donate. I already gave enough money to the university and continue to support through the alumni association, but I don't like throwing valuable things into a bottomless pit.

I don't think there are many on this board that hate RV. I don't hate RV.

Personally, I think he is a nice guy, and I think he cares about our athletics. I just no longer trust his judgement in selecting coaches or developing winning programs. We need new leadership. He has been in charge for 15 years. That is a good length of time. Lets give him a nice send off and name the Athletic Complex after him. You can even name the whole Mean Green Village after him. I'd be fine with that. But, he needs to go.

I'm not going to tell you how much I donate to athletics every year, because it isn't any of your business. I've given to the Mean Green Club for years, bought season tickets for years, and every year I purchase more UNT athletic gear then my wife believes necessary.

Everyone on this board supports this program at a higher level then the average fan. That is really all you need to know about our donation levels.

No, because it's getting flat out insane. It's like a pack of wild dogs who run through and attack or downvote anyone who says anything that isn't an attack on the guy. At some point, the admins need to step in, because it has crossed a line.

Then do what I did and stop reading it. I agree with the guy and I've stopped.

Demanding info and transparency from a private group of people expressing an opinion is beyond dumb. Actually, it's flat out insane.

You're worried about downvotes?

yeah and the whole starting of this thread was not intended to throw rocks at the so called, "pack of dogs".

It got down voted because it went from a legitimate debate, talking about discussing RV's fire in the others threads... To, what are the financial contributions of those who oppose RV?.. and questioning the legitimacy of our numbers....

Buck up, cowpoke. Someday you'll be able to tell your grandkids you survived the Great Downvoting of 2015.

I feel like if you were a true fan you would up your contribution to 110%...

The bigger concern is the personal attacks.

You didn't seem concerned in the other thread where you called our beef with RV 100% vindictive, like we're all a bunch of jerks from the jerk store.

I think I've read that sentiment from a dozen different people today, like we've been carrying a grudge against RV and waiting to strike until UNT paid $450,000 to a FCS team so it could beat us at home by eight touchdowns.

If that's true, we're some patient aholes.

My only point when I started this thread was to try to get a sense of were there enough UNT supporters who gave enough money to effect change, because like it or not that is the bottom line. So far it appears obvious to me that there aren't.

How much financial support do you give UNT athletics?

Ah yes, the ol' "You're not going to make a difference so don't bother trying to make a difference".

Glad a few people/groups throughout history ignored this line of thinking.
