Meangreenbob, I feel your frustration.  Bit how can you possibly pass on those upcoming epic battles with incarnate Word and Liberty, and Abilene Christian?

So, you're saying we have a chance against those teams?

don't forget about Lamar, too!!

Im only 25 years in, Meangreenbob, but RV keeping his job after all of this, much less getting to make another hire, it just adds up to being time to leave it all behind.

you never say never, but the history of this place suggests we aren't going to be coming back anytime soon, either. They won't want us back, nor will they give us a product that pulls us back, either.

Not to throw gas on the fire, but I found out today that the Iowa City Boys tinfoil between Mac and MiniMac was completely true, to a T.

Early indications since Canales took over say, "DUH!"

Would love to know more about what you heard, tho.

McNulty would never have been an FBS QB if Mac wasn't a head coach; Mac helps out Jim's son.

The first TD in Apogee? The inexplicable pull of DT? Yep indeed, to get a photo op between Mac, Jim McNulty, and their other close friend with Mini in the background.

The dumbfounding protecting aura or perception distortion filter around Mini that prevented Mac from ever holding him to the standard he held of all his other QBs? Confirmed favoritism and a loyalty to Jim.

Canales' comments about Demarcus JUST NOW being ready in today's paper indicate that McNulty was probably his choice as well, no?

I mean even though the only reason he got on the team in the first place was favoritism, that is independent of the fact that the whole staff might have agreed he was the best option early in the year...

I noticed both Smith and Canales acknowledge Smith is now doing the little things he wasn't doing before to become a better quarterback. Again, not being the best choice in week 1 doesn't and didn't mean he wasn't the best choice in week 6.

That says more about not wanting to kick a friend when he is down than anything else.

I feel the same. My girls asked me to buy them UNT Athletics shirts the other day when we were shopping. Nope. Not until something changes. Every time the AD speaks I get angrier.

So you said no to your kids wanting to wear North Texas apparel just because of the AD? I'm sorry but that's a bit ridiculous. When I buy a polo from the bookstore or where ever, I don't think to myself "Nope, I'm not going to buy this because its only going to help RV get richer and fatter". No I buy the damn shirt because I love this freakin university no matter what because I spent some of the best years of my life at this University and I'm not going to turn my back on UNT all because some Idiot is running the athletic program. Watching these last several years of Athletics have been hard, yes but you have to go to support the kids that wear that Jersey because they are your fellow alumni when they graduate and they have more ties to this University than that Humpty Dumpty sitting on top of the wall. If Humpy Dumpty Falls off that wall, Great!! If he doesn't, Who gives a shit, be there for the kids and the University.

How RV can even suggest that Mac was a good coach is beyond everything that is honest and decent. Mac was a loser! His record speaks for itself. Not only that but Mac stole‌ 2.1 million from the University. Mac knows that, RV knows that and most of us on this board knows that. Mac ran this program into the ground. Mac publicly told everyone he couldn't do the job because it was to difficult to recruit to UNT. If you can't do the job and health was an issue then you resign sir! That's what an honest and decent individual does. He doesn't hang around until he destroys the program so he can get fired and bag the "unearned' buyout.

RV is no better. Same mold, same arrogance. Fifteen years of smoke and mirrors. Honestly, how can these people look themselves in the mirror?

I did not renew our 4 season tickets for basketball this year. First time in many many years. And although it turned my stomach I did renew our 5 season tickets for football this year because of my wife and son's insistence. But NO MORE!! No more donation to the Mean Green Club as well!!

I can no longer be a party to this unethical, immoral, dishonest and incompetent program.

Unless RV is fired my seats are up for sale! After 45 years I've seen enough.

Lets speak Hypothetically here. What if RV makes a bad ass hire and everyone is super hyped about this new hire, would you still not renew? Lets just say, he gets Cumbie, Applewhite or whoever your guy might be that you want to come coach at your school, would you still not renew? Hypothetically speaking, if RV is still here, what would it take for you to renew your tickets? I don't want to come across as me attacking your stance but I just want to understand it because I like so many others don't want to see long time MGC members  walk away.

Me not buying my girls their 15th UNT shirt has zero to do with the AD. It has everything to do with being exhausted of the endless embarrassment and failures of an athletic department that both their parents played for.

I'll always enjoy Denton and UNT but athletics are the only thing that keeps my friends coming back to Denton. It's a pain with everyone scattered and with work/family obligations. No one is going to go out of their way for this product. The fun has sadly ended because this leaderless department has run everyone off. Including club level season ticket holders. Yes, I'm pissed off and I'm not buying my kids their 16th UNT shirt to spill ketchup on because I'll blow my money elsewhere while I'm mad. The whole thing sucks.

Hypothetically speaking if I win the lottery and have money to throw away I would buy a trailer and become a Platinum Eagle. And if monkeys flew out my but and took over the swamps of Florida we might have to rethink the theory of evolution.  I think both hypothetical scenarios have just more probability of happening as RV hiring a coach to get this team to have back to back winning seasons.  But hell I would even settle for not being a punchline to college football joke all over the country.   And I near .500 record could at least get your there.  SMH

This is beyond embarrassing for the university as a whole.

If anyone outside the university were normally paying attention, that might be the case.  But, it's not. If this were happening at Texas or Oklahoma, it would be embarrassing for them. But, that it's happening here doesn't really seem to be making waves beyond the few alumni that even follow the school's athletics.

False. I wore a UNT polo the other day. All day long people commented how brave I was to wear that, or your school needs to drop football, or why did you go there, or I'd burn the shirt. That was from people that aren't my friends. You should hear my friends. It's an embarrassment to the university and all it alumni.
