SMU head coach Chad Morris, who was the offensive coordinator at Clemson from 2011-14, is interested in returning to the Palmetto State and leading the Gamecocks, according to sources familiar with him.

I expect he'll deny this publicly, but this is very interesting.  As I recall, things went quickly south for June Jones at SMU once he started flirting with a P5 program.

This is only relevant if South Carolina has interest in him.

Otherwise it's just another person milking SMU for a ridiculous paycheck and looking at the door.

I wish someone would do the same to UNT.

He may lead them to a 1-11 season this year.  If SC is really interested in hiring him at this point, I guess they would be saying something about SMU and the perceived difficulty of winning there.

I guess while we're at it, I could become a media magnate by making headlines like, "Todd Dodge expresses interest in becoming head coach at Ohio State."

What has Chad Morris done at SMU that shows anybody anything positive other than beating an even worse UNT team?

Nothing.  But what he did at Clemson made him one of the most attractive potential head coaching hires for the past few years.
