President Smatresk:

As a UNT graduate and Club Level donor, I would like to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the Athletic Director that you continue to employ.  I have continued to support this program financially throughout good times and bad, but enough is enough.  Let's just take out all of the poor decisions the AD has made over the past 10 years - resulting in a whopping 1 winning season of football......If you could please give me an answer to this simple question, I will gladly listen with open ears.  Why do you continue to allow Rick Villarreal to act unprofessional at university events?  That is it..... that is my one question.  What facts do I have to support this question to you?  How many Athletic Departments in the country allow their AD's to be on the sideline of every football game, stomping around and shaking his head in disgust like a child?  What message does this send to our coaches, our players, our alumni?  Oh and let's not forget basketball either.  Ever wonder why more and more seats are empty courtside at home games.  Come on out and watch your AD make an ass of himself yelling at, and berating officials.  As a donor, why should I be forced to explain to my son why the AD acts immature in front of all of us.  Oh and let's not forget RV's son and son-in-law acting like idiots as well.  Do you really think that the rest of coaching world is not aware of this?  Do you really think that you are going to get an "up and coming" coach?  Do you really think that any coach in his right mind will want an immature, meddling AD looking over his shoulder?   While I don't have any control over your personnel decisions, I do have control of what I contribute to the university, and I can tell you that I will not give another dime to the Athletic Department until you and the Board of Regents address this matter.  I challenge you to meet with every single coach and staff that is employed in the Athletic Department.  Sit down with them 1-on-1 and find the true answers to the problems with the program.  It runs much deeper that the win-loss record  of the University.

Maybe he thinks he's Jerry Jones.

My question about his sideline presence would be "why aren't you making the rounds of the suites and club level areas and smoozing with the big (or at least bigger) monied alums? Unless of course, the answer is you don't want to have to answer uncomfortable questions from a lot of results-based professionals.

In addition to an e-mail campaign:

Don't forget to also tweet him at .@UNTPrez (notice the period in front of the @). And use the hashtag #FireRickV in your 140-character diatribe, I mean, plea.

What's the hashtag really for, you ask? It categorizes tweets and let's you search for them.

So go to twitter now and search for #FireRickV or #FireRV to see what others are saying.

Our AD is horrible on many levels and needs to be shown the door today, the problems in the AD department itself, poor marketing, poor scheduling, poor fundraising, poor hiring.

SHOW RV THE DOOR!!!!!!

Nothing else will be acceptable!
