The good thing about the timing of this is that coordinators and coaches have a solid 7-12 weeks to perform and position themselves for this prime opportunity.  Make no doubt about it the head coaching gig in North Texas is a prime time job.  There are less than 130 of these positions across the USA.

I am with Harry here that this is a new day in Mean Green country. A coordinator or coach would salivate to have this gig, these facilities in the heart of football country.  Yes we need the right guy pulling the trigger and I need to see that soon.  The pirate could decide he wants to win consistently again and operate in one of the worlds sporting mega markets.   A stud coordinator is going to show his stuff to get a "look at me moment" from North Texas.  Manny Diaz comes to mind and then you have slew of coordinators firing on all cylinders in the big 12 who want their own show.

This is prime real estate boys and girls and now I am ready for the suitors to make me glance their way.  The smu hype and crowd shows prospectives how ready to explode we are as a fan base.

When you have numbers you have power.  Smastrek's now leads a university with more students than his previous two universities combined.  They each had a power sport or two - ladies volleyball and football in Hawaii and basketball in Vegas.  What could he do with a power sport in North Texas other than look like the high powered CEO we hired.

So future coaches put your best game tape together.  6 games 8 games 10 games we look forward to analyzing your films and learning your story.  Most importantly being ignited by your vision for one of the best opportunities in the world.

Go Mean Green!!!!!

I respectfully disagree.  None of the current coaches should be retained.  This program needs a fresh start.

Maybe Patrick or Perry, but I think the new coach should decide. My guess is that he'll keep one guy (maybe two) for some continuity.
