Chico should be given a chance. He did an admirable job last time.

GO MEAN GREEN!

What exactly was admirable? His shameless campaigning?

I am fine letting Chico take the reigns to close out the season but make it known that he is not a viable candidate for the next HC, but if the next HC seems fit to keep him so be it

I would love to know what dirt you have on  Chico.  You have been consistent in your hate for a long time.

Mmmm . . . At this point, I think I would be reticent about keeping him on as OC.  UNT has not recruited or developed a QB in the 6 years he has been here (except for continuing DT's development, what there was of it); the offense has been abysmal this year; and I don't see how at least some of the blame doesn't fall on him.

I do think he did a good job as interim, and would be okay with him serving in that capacity for the rest of the season.

Wasn't it announced that we have dual interims in Chico and Cosh?  Or, did I hear that wrong?  Any verification as yet?

He won twice as many games as Dodge in 2010 in 2 fewer tries.

You do realize that Western Kentucky was one of those two wins that year,  WK was the whipping boy of the conference that year and we expected to beat them. We lost to Rice by one point that year with Dodge at the helm. Dodge did have tougher competition also that year. The other game was Middle Tennessee that went 6-6 that year and was not super tough either and finished 6-7. So why the love affair with a guy that has proved time and time again that he has not been able to prep an offense. Also seems that he can not develop a QB or recruit one either.

You heard correct

I don't hate him, that is you impression, I don't like him as coach here. Even in our bowl year our offense was our weakest link. I want a clean house I don't want a guy here that has no potential to me. There is a reason he as been stuck here, no one that matters thinks he as potential either or he would have moved to a higher profile gig by now.

Obviously, you tell who ever gets the interim job that he has no chance to become HC because that should really motivate them.  What foolishness, I guess if Chico or anyone else went undefeated, he shouldn't be considered for the position.

It will be interesting to see the differences of a Canales' offense versus what NT has been doing.   Even though it is late to be making big changes, I think there will be some major alterations.  The same thing may be true on the defensive side.   It makes no sense to remain conservative at this point.  These coaches will be coaching for their next job which will almost surely be elsewhere but they the opportunity here shouldn't be completely closed.
