I have been impressed with Major Applewhites offense tonight.

Also Houston's defensive line is really good.

you mean Hermans?

Both teams have quarterbacks that are a legit threat to run the football. We don't have one quarterback on our roster that could fill those shoes.

Have we really seen what Smith can do other than 4 series in which he handed the ball off a bunch in mop up duty and in the second appearance the WR's dropped at least two of his passes. He did throw a pick but his team was down by 21 points, they were 4th and goal from like the seven and he forced a throw which would of more than likely wound up incomplete regardless because there was no one open. Incomplete pass = USM's ball on the 7. INT- USM's ball on the 20. Either way, USM gets the ball back.

Can we insert McNulty into that scenario? What would he of done. Down by 21 and its fourth and goal. What would the playcall be? Would it of been the same one as when Smith was in? Who knows!! McNulty wouldnt of Ran it in because if there was room for Smith to Run, I bet my last dollar that he would of Tucked and run the ball in. Maybe McNulty could of squeezed a dead duck in there in front of the defender but I highly doubt it. More than likely it would of ended up with the same result of an INT but probably a sack/incompletion which would of given USM the ball anyways. Can we blame the call on Mac? You bet your ass we can. We are down by 21 and I know 7 points sounds like a better deal than 3 but when your offense hasnt shown any sign of life and they have to get 7 yards or so to score, you think thats going to happen? You take the points when you can get them because it was still the first half of the game with tons of time left. Who knows what would of happen if we would of gotten 3 points, maybe we gain momentum and go on to win

very composed and good interview, too bad DMac threw him under the bus.

he learned from the best. See RV and every member of the 2012/13 UNT basketball team...

And Ward used to play WR for UH...

He was originally going to be redshirted his true freshman year in 2013 but when David Piland had his career-ending injury against Temple and Billy Cosh also had a season-ending knee injury, Ward and O'Korn, both true freshmen at the time, were our #1 and #2 quarterbacks.

As O'Korn settled into the starting qb slot while Ward occasionally ran packages at qb, he transitioned to receiver. He was also a receiver last year for the first 5 games of the season, however O'Korn was underperforming (constantly throwing passes at the receivers' feet and numerous interceptions) and we were 2-3. Levine benched O'Korn and moved Ward back to QB and we went on a 6-2 run including a comeback win over Pittsburgh in the Armed Forces Bowl. We are currently 11-2 with Ward as a starting QB.  Most UH fans will point out that he has the "it" factor similar to Keenum, Kolb, Ware, Klingler and a few other notable UH quarterbacks.

UNT could honestly have its next big quarterback already on the roster, just at another position.

I don't know if you were trying to bait this response or not, but here's a redshirting freshman tight end on our roster who apparently could never hope to play QB for this staff.
