it's been 10 years and 20 days since we Tulsa came to Denton and treated us like trash...

How far have we come since that point?

Dickey would go on to become so embattled with the University that he would have rather lit himself on fire than let himself get pushed around.

Dodge was basically a failure as soon as Sam Bradford threw his first pass.

I really have enjoyed a lot of the energy that Mac has brought, but with every passing game, things look bleaker and bleaker.

Can someone please convince me to make the trip to Denton on Saturday?

OK...Here's why.

North Texas is your school.  For better or for worse, you will forever be associated with North Texas.

You support your school regardless of record.  There are no guarantees as to number of wins per season.  See above

While you were on campus you made some friends that you haven't seen in some time.  Coming to the Homecoming game will give you an opportunity to run into one of two of them.

It's supposed to be a pretty day.  Any day at Apogee is a good one.

Despite what has a been a dismal start to the season,  it NT wins, don't you want to be there ?

I don't know how many games you've watched so far this year, but are you satisfied with taking someone else's word as to (1) how bad the defense is, (2) the poor quarterback play, (3) the bonehead calls made by the coaching staff, (4) how the band doesn't enter or exit the field correctly at halftime, (5) the estimated attendance, etc.

So see there, you've got to come Saturday.  For that matter, come early and enjoy the homecoming parade.

Thanks for listening

haha i was at that Tulsa game. Was excited to see that UNT got a safety. . .  but wasn't excited to see 50+ straight Tulsa points.

10 years eh?

eeeeeek.

That was the day that Darrell Dickey fell off the UNT Mountain top--the reality that other regional mid majors were way past us and that our SBC dominance would soon end in the coming weeks hit us right between the eyes starting on that afternoon.

Time flies when you're having fun! Yeah, we got up early with that safety but I could hear my father in my ear repeating one of his many sayings that have proven to me to be true over the years: "The dog that $hitz fast don't $hidt long!".
