Is this the worst team we have seen here in all three phases?

Dodge's teams at least could put up points on conference foes on offense.

We have a terrible offense, terrible defense, and special teams haven't set the world on fire. Hell, even our award nominated kicker has trouble with anything over 40 yards.

I thought UNT vs Rice on 09/27/2008 under Dodge was the low point. We may have a perfect storm on our hands to be the worst season of all time!

Run Defense: 114

Pass Defense: 113

Scoreing Defense: 124

Total Defense: 120

Rick

For reference, last year (2014) we were:

Run Defense: 65

Pass Defense: 38

Scoring Defense: 88

Total Defense: 43

We have fallen a very long way in a very short period of time.

I fear a very similar game when WKU comes a calling.

And that will be on national TV.

I am dreading that game. It is awful when teams like WKU beat us like Oklahoma and other P5 teams used to beat us.

It could be 70 point ugly.

We really need to win this week to have a little confidence going into that game.If we lose to Portland St., I shudder at the outcome of WKU.

At least I'll be out of town and not at Apogee.

I'm torn between that Rice game and the 7 OTs it took us to beat a FIU team that would go winless that year. We put up a whopping 269 yards of total offense in a 7 overtime game. That may have been the worst  things I've had to endure with my own eyes.

I will be in our nation's capital for homecoming weekend. At least I will be surrounded by people of honor, integrity and character to help me thru this rough time in our schools football life.....

So, the Rice game was the low point individually, no doubt. If Bailiff had wanted to, we would have had 100+ hung on us that day. They didn't even TRY to move the ball in the entire 4th quarter of that game.

The FIU was probably the low point for the Sun Belt Conference--two horrific teams, pillow-fighting thru ineptitude until somebody had to win. Luckily, it was us.

This season will be the low point, collectively, though. If we win a game, like we did in 2008 against winless WKU, it will be this weekend. But even if we do win, your one win will be over an FCS school that nobody has heard of before. And I don't think we are going to win. Only way this isn't the worst season will be to win 2 games or more, which I think is impossible at this point. Losing to SMU damn near guaranteed there wasn't another FBS team we should be able to beat. The only three that even could get considered were USM, who we just got prison-raped by, UTSA, who has made us their bitch, and UTEP, who is simply better than we are right now.

No matter the close company you will be keeping, I'm pretty sure you will be surrounded, but not by people of honor, integrity, and character if you are in DC!

I heard Coach Mac asked CUSA officials if they could institute the running clock for that game.

When I was coaching I've been on both sides of a running clock.  The last was a JV football game.  We were a small 3A going against a large 3A school and we barely had enough kids to field a JV team.  We stayed close in the first half but things quickly got out of hand in the 3rd quarter.  At one point the head ref came over to suggest a running clock but we had just scored a touchdown and were about to kick off.  My mind was thinking "This is the last game of the season and we just scored.  Do I want to end the game so soon?"  As I was thinking that, the other team was running our kickoff back for a touchdown.  As the runner ran past me I made my decision. We ran the clock.
