Where/When was this?

At the Dallas County Alumni event. Also said he may be calling on some of those in the room last night to play in the homecoming game. That got a few chuckles. I think he's already hearing it from alums.

As shown before the bad news for homecoming is 60% chance of rain most of the day with it threatening starting Thursday.

The good news is it appears there is no chance of snow or ice, well it is still a week out.

"Beyond" excited?  I can't flip through the trusty old Oxford fast enough to find what word might fit that state of being!

May I suggest "orgasmic"?

Whose responsibility is the bonfire?

Serious question here.

It seems that this should have been handled at a level far below university president.

He took care of it, now I am hoping his next immediate announcement is that RV has decided to retire for personal reasons. That would be a great homecoming gift to the Mean Green Nation.

I believe the Fire Marshall can grant an exception to the burn ban if an application is made and a fire truck is on the scene.

If we aren't trying to get an exemption, it is strictly because of give up.

I second this. So does the DC Fire Marshall. (Who is a close friend, our kids are all in the same class, we serve on several boards together, etc.)

that was exactly what happened.

Again UNT being a state agency can tell the Fire Marshall to pound sand if we truly want to do the bonfire, it may sour some relationships but so what not like City has done much to assist UNT or been a good host.

The university personnel who have been guiding Talons have been making piss poor decisions for years. Thankfully we have a president who can get shit done.
