Guys and gals, don't get your panties in a wad; it's not like any of those student orgs wanted to do this. The leader of the Talons even stated, "hell, late's just take the misdemeanor".

Read the article. Everyone involved is pissed.

Has this season been the biggest nut kick in UNT History or what?

The season & off-season have been epic failures. Playing off your Star Wars stuff from the podcast.. Is Jeffery Wilison our only hope? Is he the type of guy that can be a program changer?

A fire is a fire during a burn ban if I am correct. If some Tom, Dick or Harry was burning leafs in a garbage can during a ban, its still a ticket.

One is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by grass and the other is in the City of Denton surrounded by concrete. See the difference Ryan??

Strange isn't it... to have a burn ban 19 days after receiving an inch and a half of rain?

Rick

I think it is McNulty's Idea!! He wants to drain the spirit out of the MEAN GREEN populous, not just our will to live

Just make sure that they have a fire truck there and water down the grass. It's a huge event, with a lot of hands on deck. Not a couple of rednecks burning a couch in their backyard.

I guarantee you A&M would never be told this...

I believe the Fire Marshall can grant an exception to the burn ban if an application is made and a fire truck is on the scene.

If we aren't trying to get an exemption, it is strictly because of give up.

I remember when Bonfire was cancelled for drought in 2000, it was like the first time in over 50 years one had been.  This is about the 4th or 5th time since.

It's ridiculous. If the university doesn't have enough power to force an exception take the damn misdemeanor. Hard to believe this would happen anywhere else.

Actually UNT could tell the Denton Fire Marshall to pound sand since it is on State Property, but of course the feckless administration wants to play nice with the city for some unknown reason. City refuses to work with UNT so F' them

Just looked up on the Denton County Website and the burn ban has been in effect since the beginning of August. Denton has had 3" of rain and we just got rain today about 1/4". I think if they talked to the Denton County Fire Marshal, he would let them do it since this is a controlled fire
