Unfortunately, I'm thinking it's going to get ugly again this week. If only Joaquin had blown into the Gulf instead of likely moving slowly up the East Coast, we could have maybe pulled off a hurricane tie on Saturday. Now I see RV's logic for not having a bye week. Minimize our losses by not having an open date to possibly reschedule a hurricane tie. Pure genius.

Would love to see us win but, ole ball coach stinks on the road and USM has a very prolific offense. Now if DMac can have the team run out the clock and keep it close, could be upset but right now the upset would even be beating the spread.

If the team is down by 2-3 TD's at the half, there must be a change at QB.

North Texas Comes out Slow but Our Defense keeps USM in Check. McNulty disappears at half time leaving Mac only one choice and that choice is to put in the Prodigal son, Smith. He leads the team to a come from behind win with 24 unanswered points.

yes. 

one of two things will happen saturday

1. McNulty will have the game of his career, providing McCarney with a level of faith and justification in his starting QB that he will ride the rest of the season...all the way to a 1-11...maybe 2-10 record. 

2. McNulty will be very McNulty in the first half, prompting a reluctant change in QB in the second half. after Greer hands off twice and throws incomplete on 3rd and 8, DaMarcus Smith will come in a lead a furious 24 point comeback for a W...one we'll all talk about for ages. McCarney's presser will go something along the lines of "we always knew Smith could play and we were really pleased with how he responded to our challenging him this week in practice. florida iowa." Smith will round out the season at 5-4 with a few heart-breakers (because UNT) and we'll narrowly miss a bowl game at 5-7, saving McCarney's job, who will never once be questioned about how had he started Smith from the get-go UNT would've made a bowl.

USM appears to have a porous run defense with 3 of 4 teams they've faced running over 200yds per game. TX State had over 240 I think. If Wilson and Jimmerson show up big and our run D steps up I like our chances.

Just want to reiterate the obvious: I really want our team to win.  If McNulty can find a groove to the tune of 250+ yards and zero TOs/game, I'll be rooting for him all the way.
