I DVR'd the game and am watching it at 6am because I'm a masochist.

When it was 28-3 in the 2nd quarter after that wide open 88yd TD pass by the Hawkeyes, one of the ESPN-U announcers said Iowa's offense against was "like the Death Star against Alderaan."

That stings worse than anything that happened on the field.

It's like thousands of voices cried out and were silenced...

FWIW, I will be curious to know if/how things change when Andrew's gone.  It may tell us something about this team and staff, or it might not tell us anything at all.

He was pretty funny in chat though yesterday. Let's not be so quick to jettison a fan.

I agree with you.  But this program is always crying poverty and he does have 2 years left on his contract.  So I don't even want to get my hopes up about him being gone.  And I would bet my life they won't fire both of them with more that one year left on their respective contracts.  So if I can only reasonably hope to get rid of one this year, it would be RV.  Because we absolutely can't let RV select another head coach.

Not for the loss, or the way we played. But the realization after 30 years of watching the Mean Green that I'm starting to not care. That hurts me more than any loss.

There is so much truth to this for me as well it is really sad I even have to work to get excited about tailgating now. I start realizing I could be doing other things then blowing my Saturday. I never felt that bad until this year.  I also have RV burn out, which I am sure is a major contributor to my new feeling of indifference. If he opens is mouth the BS that comes out stinks so bad I have to turn him off or plug my ears or I will get physically ill on the spot.

Same. We tailgated a total of zero times last year.

MeanMag and I even went to a TCU tailgate (as guests) once last year, compared to zero for dear old UNT. Would have been there for Rice, if not for the timing of the rain and the early kickoff.

Portland State will be the first time we've set up a tailgate in exactly 700 days.

I still care enough to travel up for a game a year. This year we made two. I am planning to go to Tennessee. I can totally see a burn out looming for me.

I totally see how a good portion of you die-hards folks have wavered in your fanatical support.

Get ready for the wavering. Last year was the first time I've ever let a season ticket go unused without any real excuse, and it happened twice.  This year I gave up my 50 yard line alumni  seat and only broke down and bought season tickets 2 days before the season because John Williams' deal was too good to pass up including the SMU game, shirt and beer after each game.  I live less than a mile from Agogee and I'm already 0-1 on home games.  Have not stepped foot in the Super Pit since year 2 of Benny ball and I'm already contemplating why I'd want to go watch us lose to Portland St.

There are 2 things that could possibly make me care about the 2 things that I used to schedule my life around and being a North Texas fan I know they won't happen until the last imaginable possible second....

Yesterday hurt... But no more than every other time it hurt to give a damn about anything that has anything to do with UNT "sports"

This is the first year I could not pull the trigger on my good seats in 15 years and we got our four season tickets in the tail-fin this year.  I have considered just buying just two seats and purchasing game day tickets for when we are there. That way if only two games are good for tailgate I will only buy those extra seats days we attend. It is such a crappy feeling to not get excited anymore. I used to look forward to tailgating for months in advance.

There's a reason why NT students and alumni are apathetic.  Yes I don't deny previous administrations did a poor job in connecting with them but let's face it we've just sucked in the sports that people care about and get the most publicity and we as in the whole NT administration constantly fails to figure 'it' out.

TTG, what a great time to come back for tailgating!! With this marquee opponent and their thousands of fans that will be here, along with it being Homecoming in Denton and the tens of thousands of fans that will be back for this great event, I can only hope that you'll be able to squeeze into your spot in the parking lot, as well as your seats inside the stadium...

Or the complete opposite of this scenario--its one of the two...

I didn't realize how bad the unis looked with the mismatched green

They look awful. Let's just pull a semi-LSU and wear all whites at home and away. This AD can't manage to do much of anything correct.

Folks, I can really understand the burn out.   I hope you continue to check the board for the rest of the season.  We are rapidly approaching the point at which we should organize and call on the president (Smatresk, not Obama... probably) to make changes.

One of the worst things about a season going south quickly is that people stop posting on here. And then I have to do other things at work like work.
