Jeff Wilson is special.   Maybe not Senior-year-Lance special, but special nonetheless.

he is special. Had me wondering if we could have beaten SMU or Rice if he played.  Ivery is nice too.  I think we have the backs.  Ivery should be #2 off the bench.

The uptempo was working...now we have to wait this mcnulty thing out.

I think I agree here... kinda getting tired of the Jimmy Show unless he's catching the ball out of the backfield in space.  Handing Jimmerson the ball behind the line is usually a recipe for anywhere between -2 to +2 yds.

I think if we had already had a game before the SMU game, and had Wilson we would have won that game.

It was interesting to hear the announcers comment on Jimmerson and his dancing around instead of hitting the hole and go. That is something you really notice with Wilson.

I mean, it was obvious that crew did little prep on us, yet it was either so readily apparent within a few snaps or our staff told them to watch for him to do that in the prep meetings, and still let him keep doing it. Either way...yuck.

I agree.  A weak FCS opponent week one, then SMU would have been a much better start to the season.  Possibly 2-0.  That also means more Mcnulty though...

Hopefully we can move on after USM and get ready to have a decent finish and strong 2016.

You mean when they said McNulty was dual-threat, that wasn't from their hours of game prep?

Someone told them that...with a straight face and everything.

McNulty sucks, no doubt, but no QB running this offense, with the current OL in place and the small defensive front seven we have, is gonna change our 2015 fortunes. I saw 3-4 wins at the beginning of the year because McNulty as QB + the other variables only equaled potential wins against SMU, USM, PSU, UTSA and UTEP, with the caveat that if we couldn't beat SMU, there wasn't another FBS team we could beat, leaving Portland State as our only win. I'm sticking to that--we will finish 1-11. And the QB, a this point, because of the scheme and the lack of development on the OL, as well as a very small and subpar defense, will not be able to change this. But that said, I'd let D. Smith play or Means just to get ready for 2016. Unfortunately, I believe D. Smith won't get that chance, so our starting QB candidates for 2016 will be between Greer and Means, since both are QBs that are busdrivers.

I just pray that we can get 3 or more wins next year. We will be breaking in a new QB. The OL will hopefully get better, so our running game will get stronger. And our defense should get stronger, too. The 2015 recruiting class should have a little more impact, since it was rated higher than any of the previous classes under Mac by quite a bit. We get SMU and Liberty at home, while playing at Army and Florida. I think we will only beat Liberty on that list, but hopefully we can get 2 or more wins in CUSA play next season. It is just amazing that we would be talking about this type of "progress" in a coach's 5th and 6th seasons at one school-and even more amazing that most of know he will probably get a 7th season without any improvement at all.

I think the right change, be it staff or a single position (QB), can make a huge difference in team morale and change the way the season plays.  It doesn't happen often (nor guaranteed) but when it does, it is a fantastic thing to witness.
